stupid win.

we wont make the playoffs and we'll get a shitty spot in the draft.

Like Jackson mentioned. Its problaby more important to get some wins and go with a more positive and confident attitude into next year than a couple of higher positions on the draft.

I agree with the sentiment that this team needs to feel better about itself more than just securing a better draft pick. I don't think the answer to the teams ails is in the draft anyway. Better off going the F.A. route or trade. Then draft a young guy and allow him to develop without the pressure of being a savior.

Now: Not to be Captain Positivity's sidekick Cynic Boy but...
Although there was lots to love about tonights game the defense needs alot of work. Minnesota is a pretty good scoring team but man, the Raptors made them look like champs in the first quarter. Kevin Love shouldn't have been getting buckets inside so easily and Foye was killing them from 3.
How many times did Bargs end up isolated on the perimeter on a switch. Give him credit, he did a great job moving his feet to stay with the smaller players but why expose the big guy like that? I just don't get it.
Nice little win though and very fun to watch.

Yay, Raps win! Nice to see some pseduo-positivity happening.

Also - I got a big laugh reading the game thread and seeing the total ignorance about the sport of Curling in general and specifically it's popularity in Canada.

i was going to comment on that too. it's a hugely massive game in canada, and a hugely massive tournament. tsn really needs regional broadcasting tho. what works for calgary doesn't always work for toronto or montreal.

In all seriousness, curling stinks and it's popular in certain pockets of the country but i know nobody that watches it or gives it any thought. It's aweful that it's an Olympic sport, if it can be called a sport. IMO if that's an Olympic sport then i guess bowling should also be in the Olympics!

I played it in gym class and it wasn't bad to play, but watching it is horribly dull!

ha. just asking b/c of the comment that you odn't know anyone that likes curling. it's definitely not big in urban areas, but go outside of toronto, montreal and vancouver and you'll find that it's ubiquitous, especially on the east coast and in alberta and sask.

thus my comment about needing regional programming.

That's why i mentioned earlier that outside of Nova Scotia and other pockets it's not popular. As much as i hate it, i realize that some enjoy it. I'm originally from a small town of 50,000 and even there nobody i know watches it. I also remember last year hearing about how shitty the ratings were getting for curling.

yep. the ratings are going down as our urban populations grow and we have more and more immigration. i really hope that in the nest couple of years we move towards programming that represents our new canadians (read champions league!!!!)
