Pops is a Restricted Free Agent, he was extended a qualifying offer by the Raps a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if he re-ups. I think he was looking for a contract in excess of 2 mil per year.

2 million is an obscene number for Pops. $1 mill max.

For real. We already have a guy that grabs boards while providing toughness without having any offensive capabilities - Reggie Evans. Pops would be somewhat redundant.

Having two for cheap won't hurt, it will only make us better.

Relative to what everyone else on the team makes, yes, $2 mil per is cheap. I don't dispute what the guy brings to the table - every team could use a Pops Mensah-Bonsu. But when you've already got an offensively-limited energy guy off the bench who, in my opinion is a better version of Pops, then it's redundant.

I wouldn't call Evans a energy guy. Pops is more of a energy guy to me... I hate it now how almost every player on any teams bench is being called a energy guy.

How can you have zero offensive skill and still carve out a decent living in the NBA? By hitting people, being physical, playing defense, and rebounding. Evans does all of that. Pops doesn't do any of it as well. Evans 10 times out of 10.

I agree but I would like seeing both of them coming off the bench together, and pops height has an advantage seeing that Evans is only 6'8 compared to pops 6'10.

That's a pretty stacked second line if we can get them both.

Pops
Evans
Delfino
Derozan
Jack

I highly doubt Pops is anywhere near 6'10". If anything Evans should be taller then Pops by around 2 inches. Pops is no more then 6'8". Pops being 6'10" are you crazy??

You'd rather have Pops than Rasho? Really?

I would never play Pops at C ever. Not even on the second unit. I'd take Rash over Pops anyway.

Even though I like Pops, I'd rather have Rasho if it came down to it. Rasho is a serviceable centre who has proven his value to us. Pops on the other hand is a fan favourite with superior athletic ability, but is very limited otherwise. I see Rasho helping us in the playoffs, if we make it there, more than a guy like Pops.

Yes, but only if we extend him a qualifying offer
