Default Playoffs- Are You Red-Y?

Who would you rather play in the Playoffs this year Raptors fans, the Magic or the Cavaliers. I know we are slated to play the Cavaliers but I hope we tank on that road trip and come back to face the Magic. Anything is better than that freak of nature LeBron James whom we never seem to be able to defend. I know Dwight is a freak of nature too but in my opinion we could fare better against him rather than LeBron.

I'll rather play the Celtics than the Cavs

I'm almost serious

I have no fear whoever Raps gets provided they pull Nancy Kerrigan on LeBron's or Howard's or KG's knee... otherwise Raps don't stand a chance of winning, even if they gets Philly or Chicago in the first round...

Who do I prefer? Definitely the Magic considering how well we've played them in the last couple seasons, but that's only if Bosh is healthy. The Magic would still make it interesting, but realistically I don't think we're a Round 2 playoff type team. Not yet though. In another 2 years we will be.

Once the playoffs starts anything can happen, who would have thought the Cavs would get pass the pistons last year, who would have thought the 8th seed knicks would make it all the way to the finals. Anything can happen, it's a brand new season and every team starts at 0-0. Injuries and/or hot streaks can easily happen which can turn the favor around for any team.

If the raps stay healthy, play up to their potential, and play united as a team, then we have as good of a chance as any playoff team.

While i agree that once the playoffs start, pretty much anything "can" happen, in sports like basketball, good teams are usually far too disciplined and structurally sound for upsets to happen too frequently.

but whatever. stuff happens and it would be great for the Raptors to have a different first round outcome than the one they had last year.

However, to answer the question in the title of this thread. Hell no, i'm not red-y. I know the Raptors aren't red-y either. But at least there's still a good deal of basketball to be played in the season, so they have ample time to work out of this low and get into a winning groove.

i wonder if teams fear us.
you know how theres always that team that higher seeds dont wanna play?
do you think we're considered that team?

i'm always been a firm believer in streaks and momentum... and i know that if the raps can get hot by the time playoffs start, we can make some serious noise.

god no. Defense, toughness, rebounding. nothing to fear really.

That i agree with. If we hit a stride and start clicking on offense, then we can definately do some damage. Come on TJ, Jose: Do your thang!

I wouldn't bet my money on it...

Orlando is constantly improving and Toronto is going down every game... just having TJ chuck 20+ shots could be enough for them to lose...

And who can guarantee Raps will have Bosh come post season... they way I see it he is out with no date of his return...

TJ will stop being a hog when Bosh comes back.

I think the one thing no one is talking about is Bosh's conditioning. It took him 20 regular season games to get back to normal and now hes hurt again. He really needs to work on his conditioning this offseason so he is ready by game 1 and is able to play a full season, no VCing it in the offseason and no going to the olympics.

What causes his setback at the start of the year again? Injury from the olympics?

i agree with ivan...
i dont know why everyone is so sold on us beating the magic come playoff time.
the magic are good, really good and keep getting better.
us beating them in the regular season doesnt mean much... playoffs is a whole different beast.
and we're not the best playoff team in the world.

He didn't play for Team USA this past summer.

He got hurt in practice in Europe.

Knee on knee with someone.

Most are more convinced we'd have a much better chance not necessarily that we'd be a for sure to beat them and I agree with that. We match up much better with ORL and they suck at guarding the pick and roll and Bosh, so of course we'd have a better shot at beating them than the walking violation and the 3pt shooters.

Thank you Lyrrad. Just like those.

Or maybe these:

But seriously, if Bosh keeps getting injured from knee on knee something is wrong because it happens everygame in the NBA and usually both guys are fine after 5 minutes.
