Default Playoffs run

so, the conference seems to pack up right now.
  • Indiana 33 7
  • Miami 29 12
  • Atlanta 21 19
  • Toronto 20 20
  • Washington 20 20
  • Chicago 20 20
  • Brooklyn7 17 22
  • Charlotte8 18 25

so the euphory is down a little, and we are tie for the 4th spot.
with one game out of the 3rd. and only 3.5 out of the 9th place.

we have lose 3 of the last 4 and 6-5 in the month of january.

Chicago without deng is playing great a 8-2 run.
Washington continue to improve also.
Atlanta is putting a fight right now. so i believe it will be hard to be in the 3rd at the end of regular season.
what do you think ?

If we snap out of this mini funk we should be alright for the rest of the season. Doesn't our schedule get easier now?

I don't buy all the "wait till that team gets fully healthy"-talk. Teams like NY en BK are old, they'll never get back to full strength for a good period of time and even if they do, they're so out of sync that they'll never develop any real chemistry.

Atlanta and Chicago I can give praise to, they're doing an admirable job. Washington I'll never be a fan of...

So if we can get this thing back on track and stay healthy we can still get homecourt advantage!

Just posted this in the GT but I don't have confidence we'd beat Brooklyn, Charlotte, New York, or Detroit.

Let's not discuss playoffs until march. We're in January and this team looks less and less like a playoff team.

Knicks are done.. BK will be there, they are starting to play better.. But I think teams like Chicago and Brooklyn would be a tough test in a playoff, they have experience

Don't count out New York. A couple of years ago everybody did since they were pretty far below .500 but they actually ended up with the 7th seed that year.

With our schedule, and the perception of the teams ability, we should easily get the 3 seed with the 2nd easiest schedule remaining in the league. If we don't, and we keep the same team, then you really must question Masai's decision making, and his speech about 'not being caught in no mans land' will just be a bunch of bullshit for a fanbase that's seen it's fair share of bull shit.

We're in a really disgusting place right now. 20-20 in a terrible conference, with the 20th draft pick, and an underwhelming collection of talent.

The team has become complacent. Maybe we had good run, and we are basically .500 team in weak eastern conference. Our starting frontcourt has regressed, Ross has less open looks and teams forcing him to put the ball on the floor exposing his weak handle and drive to the rim. Demar having questionable shots especially in 4th quarter.

The only difference this time for NYK though is there team is a mess because of on/off court issues that seem to come up constantly. They definitely have the talent to get a low seed spot, but with everything going on this season I just can't see it happening.

I read yesterday that the nets have the easiest schedule in the league, so they trump us even in that respect.

I would be shocked if we can hold them off tbh. If we can play most games like we did in december, we should be able to hold on to the 4th. I think the difference between 4 and 3 is minimal in terms of matchups.

if we play like we did the past week, we'd be lucky to even make the playoffs.

You guys already have 20 wins. That will get you the 8th seed in the Eastern playoffs.

New York 19 29 0.396 18.5
Washington is having a pretty good stretch and are grinding their way toward ATlanta and US.

for now i could see us having to face one of those teams in the first round of the plyoffs :
Atlanta - Washington - BK - Chicago

and none of those teams will be simple for us.

I wouldn't want to meet them. That team is always so prepared and they play their asses off.

The only issue with Chicago though is we don't know what way the team is leading towards regarding the trade deadline. The only 2 guys that are safe on their team is Noah and Boozer because no team will touch his contract. If they end up trading away a piece or two like Gibson, Dunleavy or Hinrich they will be a lot more easier to beat. if they keep their current team intact then it will be an extremely tough series if we do indeed meet them in the playoffs.

Washington is also looking like a dangerous matchup. I remember that poll we did recently. Well, the Wizards are on a nice stretch where they beat legit teams- Warriors, Thunder, Trailblazers.

Brooklyn has some nice vet players so I wouldn't want to face them either.

Also, for some odd reason, Charlotte always finds a way to screw us over in the end.

The eastern playoffs teams are playing quite well lately. Not only have the Raps been good during 2014, Brooklyn has been hot (although they have lost some lately), Atlanta has kept it steady, Bulls wont go away even when they have been stripped of two top players this season, and teams like Wizards and Bobcats are picking up good wins on Western conference playoffs teams.

We really need to get some wins on those games against other Playoff teams and take care of business against the crap that outside the Playoff picture in east. Luckily we dont have many games left against good teams in west so we have a good chances.
