pietrus

he don't have a contract right now, and after bucks pass on him, don't you think we can take him ?

jeffb 08-15-2012 07:20 PM

To be honest I'd take him here if he'd accept the vet min. I like Pietrus and he likes the city.

Claudius 08-15-2012 07:33 PM

He looked lost in Boston and a step slow on offense and defense. I'd pass on him.

He was their best perimeter defender..... but I suppose his regular season wasn't so good.

+1. But to be fair, he was not 100%.

Playoffs? Playoffs? Oh, you're joking.... my bad. Yean, agreed, they relied heavily on MP in the playoffs.

i hope we sign him tomorrow and release him on friday just so his name can go away. since he's joined the league, everyone has always wanted him here and that alone has made him extremely overrated. with our youth in mind, i doubt he'd even crack our rotation anyways.

Green Street Agent: Mickael Pietrus ‘not a veteran minimum player’

Quote:

“MP will not play for the veteran’s minimum. Period,” said McCandless. “It’s not happening. That’s the beginning, middle and end of that. … He is not a veteran’s minimum player. There’s no chance he’ll ever sign for that.”

That leaves the $1.96 million bi-annual exception as the C’s only option, but that may not be enough. While Pietrus signed for the $1.22 million minimum after being waived by the Suns in December, the French-speaking Guadeloupean has “a standing offer triple that overseas,” his agent said. They’ve also engaged in serious talks with several NBA teams, including one Monday, “and the money was much more than the veteran minimum.”

He's not an upgrade over the wingmen that the raps currently have... easy pass

fair point... but he made the Miami series much closer.

ClutchCity 08-16-2012 01:42 AM

Pietrus sucks, wtf are you guys talking about??

Claudius' comment was spot on, that should've ended the thread right there.

J-Bo 08-16-2012 02:30 AM

he is mediocre....and we have way too many slightly above mediocre wings atm you know?

Nites 08-16-2012 02:51 AM

Above average defender. He showed it against Miami. Showed that he has no offensive game what so ever against Miami as well though.

No he wasn't. Avery Bradley was their best perimeter defender until he got hurt.

And while Pietrus could technically have been considered their best defensive perimeter option he was still terrible giving up some cheap fouls and being caught out of position.

Yeah, in games where Boston was ahead, Pietrus allowed Miami to inch closer.

halphbreedballer 08-17-2012 12:25 AM

3 years ago maybe, but nither no!!!

ClingRap 08-17-2012 01:10 AM

who does he take minutes from? there's already some competition at his position. Time for him is time away from Fields, DD, and Ross. Those guys need minutes. He's become little more than a spot up shooter. Makes no fucking sense why we should sign him.

zxcvbn193 08-17-2012 06:19 AM

I don't mind taking him and paying 4m for one season.
