Have you seen Hibbert's stats this season. The dude is only putting up 12.1 points, 7.8 boards with 2.6 blocks per game on 46.4% FG shooting.

Drummond on the other hand is putting up 12.6 points, 12.6 boards with 1.8 blocks per game on 60.4% FG shooting.

Hibbert is definitely on the better team and would probably get the nod because of it, but if we are looking at just straight numbers Drummond should get in over Hibbert.

?
Demar has upside on most of those guys...I think maybe Evans, Afflalo, and Hayward are the most similar.

I don't see how trading Demar straight up for any of those guys could possibly make our team better when you take into consideration role.

Fact is - Demar is a lead scorer who has had quite a bit of success since Gay has been traded measured by team winning % (team wins / team games played).

On that list you have guys who simply lack the character to fit that role (Gay, Beasley, Evans, Johnson).

There are guys who lack the ability to create there own shot and be the number one guy (Matthews, Redick, J. Evans).

Then there are guys who are in similar situations with ups and downs trying to get to that next level as an elite guy (Hayward, Afflalo).

Then there are some vets who can create there own shot but they've shown their potential as players in a lead role (Deng, Martin)

Kawhi is the most interesting, but he's so quiet, and his leadership potential as a lead scorer is definitely a mystery/risk.

Yes he is inefficient at times, but at time he is also bailing the team out when no one can get it going.
how about ... amir johnson and kyle lowry? I'm sure they'd welcome a raise, they're better than demar and (at least amir) want to be here.

Amir making what he should. He shouldn't get a raise imo.

A very weak year as far as guards.
Has nothing to do with being a "mind reader." I'm saying that the coaches will not have 5 bigs make up their 7 man reserve roster.

Common sense.

Sure, if there was a little meeting to determine the reserves. But it's a voting process. So it's entirely possible the votes will be more split on the guards, meaning the highest vote-getters from the coaches are mostly bigs.

Unlikely, but it's certainly possible (especially considering there are no bigs among the starters).

that only applies for wildcards, since the bigs and smalls are voted separately

sure he should, he's a top 40 player in PER I think, while providing above average defense, even elite now and again. His offense is fairly limited, but he's not a total liability - he's a fantastic P&R players, shoots better from 3 than demar and has a strong jumper. If West makes 12 Amir deserves 9 imo, more if he could be more consistent.

A starting PF averaging 10.5/6.5 should not be making more than 6.5-7mil imo which he basically already makes. I wouldn't give him 8mil/yr

Yeah, my point. Three bigs, plus the two wildcards go to bigs if the small vote is too split. That's 5 bigs to 2 smalls.

All about the numbers? The numbers that matter (how the team performs with him on the court) say he's worth whatever you can throw at him.

You wouldn't pay 8M for Amir? Crazy talk.

And I'm saying that's who I think deserve to make it. This isn't a predictions thread, it wasn't a predictions article, and my post wasn't about predictions. If guards are picked, I'll think they snubbed more deserving players.

IMO....

The Western Conference - Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, Steph Curry & Bryant.
Cousins
Aldridge
Paul
Lilliard
Harden
Antonio Davis
Dragic

The East - LeBron James, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade and Kyrie Irving.
Wall
Lowry
Derozan
Milsap
Bosh
Jefferson
Drummond

Hibbert over drummond? Meh. Possibly because Drummond is young and will be there in a couple years anyway.
