![]() i propose a trade yesterday, that make sense to me.
and sa, i really like how a all-star or near allstar PF would put this team in a situation of near contender. To me the choice is between: 1.Hoford 2.Millsap 3.Alridge 4.Gasol (to old to build a serious team forward) PS: if you are a tank nation fan, don't bother comment please. this is to create a winning team. |

![]() 1. Hoford to me is a great target. he just turn 27. he is a team player and a great defender. for years he ask discretlyy to be a PF not a center.
and if atlanta rebuild, his long contract wouldn't be in their plan. to me he is a perfect fit with guys like JV, DD and Gay. 2. Millsap is great, and he is a solid defender for power-3. But i think his price would be in the same range as Hoford (his actual contract). A great addition. 3.Alridge would be nice. even if i don't think portland would let him go for picks and expiring, they don't want to rebuild again, they want to win. 4. Gasol. he has a big expiring, so i think, he could be available for us, and at a lower cost than the 3 above. but his age is a probleme if we ant to build a serious team forward. i try to put here not the best of the best, but affordable/available PF. |

You can pair them with Jonas for a great long term front line. Or if you feel the team still wouldn't be ready, you can trade them later. Like, do you think the Cavs would give Bennett + picks for Horford? IMO, the Cavs would absolutely do that. But getting them is easy to say, near impossible to do, unless maybe you offer Valanciunas + pieces. |

![]() I'm not sure we need a near all star PF. We need a player like Splitter or Brand to back up the C or PF IMO
I'd like to have near allstar PF but it just looks like it won't happen. Best case Scenario a sign & trade of Demar & filler & our newly acquired picks for D12, which I know won't happen lol Last edited by halphbreedballer; 07-04-2013 at 09:06 AM. |

But my preference would be for a young PF like A.Nicholson or T.Thompson. that should be enough for our frontcourt to be good. the thing is always to know what you want, tobuild a great team now or to take your time to do it. |

![]() How about Amir Johnson. Barkely got this right. Barkley said that you need two or three players to handle the ball, and you need role players to complement your playmakers. We have enough players who need touches, Amir knows and performs his role well and he is only 26 years old.

![]() all the players on that list are only gettable with JV included in the deal.
Even if JV wouldn't be included, gay or a two players combination like demar/lowry would be required. Right now this team has 1 PG, 1 proven SG, 1 proven SF, 1 proven PF and 1 proven C and 1 semi-passable backup C. We need to add a backup PG, a backup SF and a backup PF at the minimum. If we trade two starters for that PF, we will also need to fill a starting position. All that with the MLE. Good luck! |

![]() whats wrong with starting amir? he's put in serious work the past few years, and improved drastically as a shotblocker, defender and rebounder. plus the dude grinded out some wins for us when it came to rebounding and putbacks. doesn't need the ball and still is capable of a double double every night and a heart of a fighter.
just some improvements in his passing and then surround him and JV with 3 point shooters and we got ourselves a solid team with two efficient big men to build upon. Quote:

![]() Yep - I've never understood this obsession. Amir can, and maybe should be the leader on this team. He can set the tone with his effort on both ends and have his words carry a lot of weight at this point. He doesn't need to play huge minutes, but starting should not be an issue.

Either way, Amir should be our starter next season, provided we don't swing a deal for a star powerforward. :mu: |
