B]Perkins: I Have Bright Future in Free Agency[/b](Kendrick) Perkins also has another important reason to make sure hes healthy before he returns: Hes in the last season of his contract. The New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets and New jersey Nets are among the teams that expect to have salary-cap space after the season. One NBA executive whose team will have cap space this summer said Perkins health will be the biggest concern for his possible suitors.

Perkins, 26, is from Beaumont, Texas, and figures to draw interest from the Rockets and Thunder. Still, hed prefer to return to the Celtics, whose payroll for next season is already projected to be about $74 million, provided (Ray) Allen and Shaq dont opt out of their contracts.

I will show that Im back and there are no issues with my knee, said Perkins, who is making $4.4 million this season. I will have a bright future as far as free agency. We will see how this season turns out and how it goes from there.

I want to be with the Celtics, but I got to think about my future.

I think I mentioned a few months ago that this is the guy the Raptors need to target.

He's a good post defender and a good rebounder.

He doesn't need the ball offensively to be effective but he's got a nice post up game and shoots at a very high percentage.

Also, and what I'm fond of, he's got a championship to his name and that experience is valuable.

I just don't know if he'd want to come here and I think Boston does everything in their power to resign him.

To answer the question though, yes, he is the guy I'd target if healthy.

Yes he is a great defender, but he's playing alongside the best defensive PF in the game, in a great defensive system. That makes his job easier.
In offense, nobody defends on him because he's got 3 HOFamers + a good PG around. He isn't a great rebounder and he is the slower guy in the ligue ahead of Yao. LOL.

No way I'll give him 60M/5 years

I think he'll ask for something in the neighbourhood of $8 million per, and when you pro-rate it for this team I think you're looking at a Turkoglu-esque deal, maybe a little less. That's money you pay to a guy who's going to save this team on the defensive end. Perkins a solid, physical presence down low. I don't think he's an anchor, just a very nice compliment. He'd be a great guy to have if we already had a solid defensive foundation in place.

I would stick with Davis and develop him. He has the same grit down low can reel in rebounds. Once he bulks up and learns some offensive moves, he can become better than Perkins.

Perkins is a Center.

Bargs/Davis/Amir
Perkins/Amir/Dorsey

That would be a pretty good front court imo. Allowing BC to concentrate on the Back court, especially the PG position. But like i said, he'll re-sign with Boston imo. We'll see i guess.

Ah poop, where did my brain go. I amy have misread something
He did say he wanted to resign with the Celtics, but he's also looking for other deals. He said he's also looking about his future. But Celtics will do everything to keep him.

But that lineup looks good. Ah Dorsey, why must you be undersized?

To be honest both those backup Centers would be undersized. IMO Davis will be better then Amir and if a Center can be had, with Bargs going to PF i don't know if Amir is needed. Maybe a veteran backup Center can be had somewhere. I suppose Alabi can be a decent backup in a few years, but who knows about him at this point.

What are we gonna do with this old fuck? We're not gonna be any good for years, I say we develop our players, and make the best of it.

Only reason why Kendrick can score the ball at all, is cause the defense is always running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to guard Allen, Rhondo, and Pierce
