Default Perimeter D

The raps have NOBODY who can defend on the perimeter.
They have to start looking for some lock-down defenders.

There ARE some out there that could be available.
Why not a trade with the bulls?

Larry Hughes has always been a good defender & i'm sure with the quick emergence of Rose that Hinrich is available.
Getting those 2 guys would significantly upgrade the backcourt D.

Another guy they should take a look at is Corey Brewer. I know he's out for the season....but this is a guy who is a lock-down defender. Sign him in the summer.

I'm not saying that these are THE GUYS....they are just a few i thought of off the top of my head. But i believe some of these type of players are readily available and could be had for some of the raps expiring contracts.

What do you think?

convinced that Raptors fans are only happy when they're unhappy.

If Hughes could ever remain healthy I think he'd be a great addition to our team, but he spends more time on the injury list than he does the court unfortunately.

Brewer doesn't help us now as you alluded too. I like Hinrich and I think he needs fresh start elsewhere, but who do we trade to the Bulls for Kirk and Hughes that Chicago would want and make them better?

BTW, welcome to Rf donnie.

I get what you mean about the bulls....they have so much young talent that the raps don't have that much to offer.
But just taking a quick look around the league (and i don't pretend to know the intimate details of every player's game), i see the following players who play for teams that MIGHT want to make a move (i.e: their team is not on the verge of winning the title)

These players could either help with perimeter D or rebounding or just aggressiveness:

Atlanta: ZaZa Pachulia
Charlotte: Raja Bell (i know he can't be traded for awhile....but good defender)
GS: Ronny Turiaf
Indiana: Troy Murphy
Chicago: Hinrich, Nocioni, Noah (i know he's got no talent....but he is a hustler)
Detroit: Kwame Brown
Clippers: Camby
Memphis: Quentin Ross
Miami: Marion (we've all seen the rumors & i personnaly like them), Haslem, Magloire (could rebound a bit at least)
Milwaukee: Gadzuric, Luc Mbah a Moute (if they would give him up)
Minnesota: Rodney Carney
NJ: Josh Boone
OK: Johan Petro
76ers: Dalembert (since he seems to be out of favor)
Phoenix: Robin Lopez
Sac: Brad Miller
Utah: Matt Harpring

J.T should put in some zone sets, because its obvious they can't guard anyone 1-on-1.

I wouldn't say nobody, Moon does a good job and Graham has shown that he can be effective. Also, Parker can handle guys that aren't very athletic.

The Raps need rebounders. That's their biggest weakness. Opponents FG% has been very low recently, and this usually indicates good perimeter D.

I think Bryan is a lot more focused on the long term than short term right now. Hughes would be a useless addition.
