Default The Perfect Storm.

Just wondering has the loss of Bosh, return of TJ and the West Coast trip, caused a perfect storm for BC to make a move at the coaching level. I don't want to be a doomssayer or anything...but lets say Bosh comes back...Raps get home, and the team still can't find an answer...how far is too far, before a change is made? 7th, 8th, miss the playoffs all together? Normally when a team is stagnant like this a small personel move makes all the difference...how about we bring in Leo as an assistant or something??

(Yes I'm kidding about the last part)

Phew .... your suggestion of bringing in Leo made me laugh out loud.

Anywhore, some might jump over me for saying this but I think this season is a write off. In fact my prediction before this season was to be in the lower 4 playoff spots and not getting by the 1st round. Not because of how poorly we've played since starting the 2nd half of the season, but more because the playoff contenders are all much stronger especially in the West, but even teams in the East improved alot over the last little while.

Right now the way we've played we deserve at best the 7th or 8th spot or even missing the playoffs all together. I don't think a coaching change will occur before the end of this season though. That might be something that Raptors management contemplate this summer, but I just think its a matter of removing a few pieces from this current puzzle and replacing them with new ones this summer. I still think Sam can do the job here in Toronto, I just think he needs better options than what he's been dealt this season. JMO

I ahve though too about the idea of the prefect storm, we seem to be the contrarie of the Rockets. Bosh injured, problems with Tj adjusting to his new roll, playing against good teams and bad teams that are palying well(see charlotte and Washington). I hope when we get home, we get Bosh bak and start having our easier scheduel heps us making a good run to get a good feelling in the playoffs.

I know and I hate the cliche, but "has he lost the room"?

I didn't really think about it untill Parker spoke last week. Forget X's and O's I know its not his strong point, but the team is lacking any kind of gumption right now, and there is no argument that it is his job, to get the boys moving.

They look disinterested. Sam says all the right things like "f they are not going to play defence they are going to sit". He doesnt follow through though, last night there was a play where Delfino didn't even bother to run at Akins and he played almost the whole game.

agreed. this is year four, and come on, he still runs the same fucking offense year in, year out, which is one play. i'm actually quite bored of the whole team in general. their style of play, which was toutued as being phoenix north, is a walk it up style nowadays. they never fucking run.

i also think colangelo is too blame here as well. he's built a line-up catered to a catch and shoot offense, as we're sorely lacking any type of guy who can create shots for himself. if we're going to have guys who can score and cant play a lick of defense then maybe we should concern ourselves with outscoring the other team, not trying to stop them so much. play to your strengths!

Well the good news is Bosh is 24 in a week, Bargnani is 23, we have a great game manager in Calderon, we have a huge expiring contract to create options next year, and one hopefully expendable point guard that the league is hopefully saying "Wow, he averaged 25/5 against GS and the Lakers! Let's get that guy" about. I agree this team has a lot of work to do, but I won't be too dissatisfied if we put up a good fight against Cleveland and Orlando and look to build our team. For the record I do think we're better than last year... last year we were winning a lot of close games by heart alone, while in reality we were still a team that started Joey Graham and had Dixon as a our primary backup 2.

I'd much rather be in this building potential station than somewhere like Denver, where they're going nowhere but down. Obviously would it be great to be in a position like New Orleans, Portland, Utah, where their pieces to contend are already there? Yeah, but not everyone can be that fortunate. I still like this team.

it's a possibility that Sam is starting to lose full control over this team. There have been an unusual number of games this season where it seemed like we didn't give a shit, especially in the past 2 months. All teams have games like this, but we seem to have more than we used to, especially with the whole idea that Sam's teams always play hard (one of his selling points). Parker's comments were especially interesting given that he is the real team captain and that they are slightly contradicting Sam's comments after that same game.
