Default Paul Jones: Quick turnaround

Were they committed or were they just facing a Bulls team with dead legs?

So who were those guys playing defence in Raptor uniforms Wednesday night in the second half? As I said earlier, before you change anything about the defensive system or schemes within the system, you have to see if it works and the only way to measure this is to have an all out commitment from the players.

Following a first half where Toronto allowed Chicago to put up 60 points shooting 52% from the floor, they turned it around in the second half holding the Bulls to 29 points and limiting them to 25% from the field. Yes, Chicago is one of the poorest offensive teams in the league, still not scored 100 points this season and they were playing in a back to back situation, but the Raptors defence deserves some credit. It just shows what a team can accomplish with commitment and effort at the defensive end

1 and 99% is more likely
they were still getting the same shots, but they were hitting the rim
tired legs, and tonight will prove it
our defense right now is not nba-level

I dunno...i watched the game and I think there was definitely more effort, particularly in the 3rd. Most of the 4th was just Chicago missing shots they should have made, but they were jump shots...Rose wasn't getting to the basket at will...there was some increased intensity.

yeah i think it was a little bit of both (chicago was tired and faced good d)
the thing is even if it was a morely chicago being tired u cant deny the fact that Raptors did play good defence near the end and if they can do that they can defeat the likes denver i truelly believe.

Have to agree. Our lack of defence benefited from the fact Chicago tired from playing a mentally and physically draining game the night before. I don't believe we would of won had that not been the case. Other than Bosh and perhaps Calderon it was a pretty lackadaisical and spotty effort. That game proved to me Chris is capable of carrying a team on his shoulders pretty much by himself.

They played good defense, it's not like the bulls have never played a back-to-back before. They're nba athletes. The raps simply had all 5 guys focused and playing together on the defensive end. They were making Rose shoot from outside and they were communicating with eachother.

This is going to be a long season if the only way we can win a game is by the other team "playing like crap" lol.....

Give the guys some credit for God's sake.

They played like garbage the first half.... but picked up a bit in the 3rd and were just great in the 4th.

They played some good defense in the first quarter and into the second a bit as well. Pretty much whenever Bargnani was not on the court. If he's got the bad achilles then that explains something, but I worry that it doesn't explain everything, or that he's going to play through an injury that kills us so bad.

If he's injured then he needs to stay the heck of the floor.

We have the depth this season to cover him for a bit. Let's use it.
