Quote:
Patterson may or may not have received a promise from the Toronto Raptors at No. 13, but he walked away from his workout very confident that they will take him if he's there. He even cancelled a workout with the Bucks, who own the No. 15 pick. The Hornets are also a strong possibility at No. 11. It's not entirely confirmed, but it seems that Patterson has received a pretty strong commitment from the Raptors.

That would be a weird thing
I rather believe he gets a promise from Indiana or Chicago than us.

We have Amir for undersized PF who can't create his shot, thank you.
I don't trust Cousins and Patterson, John Wall upped their value too much

Patterson's role was actually reduced when Wall came along.

I'd rather go after Henry or Bradley.

Why not? He's a solid rebounder and can finish in the paint. Isn't that something we need?

I wouldn't be opposed to Patterson. He's very workman like, brings his hard-hat to the court every night. He brings energy, rebounding, hustle. Think poorman's Udonis Haslem.

My beef with taking Patterson is that his style of play - undersized PF, with motor, and a hard hat is easier to come by in the F.A. or trade markets than a superior guard defender like Bradley. But if the Raptors brass is unsure if Bradley can transition to the PG spot, than I'd be ok with Pat Pat at 13.

I am all for this pick if he can slip to us. He can turn into a great power forward. Not much of a scorer but very solid. He is also very ready to play in the NBA and can give us the rebounding we are going to miss from Bosh. I still hope Avery is our pick but Patterson will be good too.

why a poorman's haslem? more like a haslem, probably has more potential

mostly cause of Cousins and Orton coming in

Patterson doesn't really play D well, so he should fit in
