AP is one of the worst over-helping defenders in the league. Steve Nash ranks right up there as well.

consistency? The only thing I consistently see him do is take fadeaways. He does work hard on the court, but his lack of talent is crazy.

He's not THAT great of a defender, (terrible team defence), but in terms of one on one... every big name player scores big numbers on him.

The reason we keep kapono out there is because he spreads the floor, parker doesnt. He's pretty much a waste on both ends of the floor. If we want veteran leadership we should try to find a veteran that has won something, not a european veteran who hasnt won anything in the NBA.

Hopefully BC doesnt resign him.

IMO, Parker is one of the five most talented guys on our team - it's his body that won't let him use it. The only reason he takes that fadeaway is because he just doesn't have the quicks anymore to let him get to the net.

He's not as bad of a defender as you're letting on. Yes his rotations could use some work (whose don't...) but his one on one defense is at least a little bit above average. Big name players are big name players because they put up big numbers on everyone. Parker's not an anomaly in that sense, I hate to break it to you.

And don't tell me you think Kapono spreads the floor better than Parker does. As much as Parker's game comes and goes, he's much more consistent with his shot than Kapono is. We brought Kapono in to be our three point shooter and all he does is hit shots one out of every four games. At least AP's shot drops 50% of the time.

And you think multiple Israeli and Euroleague championships and MVPs count for nothing? Whatever..

He's been up and down all season and it started last season. He's only gonna get worse, he needs to go.

Parker did get lost on rotations a few times last night, but he did a great job of following Rip around screens. The Pistons were running Hamilton off 2 or 3 at a time and Parker stayed with him through them all.
The Raptors team defensive concepts are so brutal they could make All-NBA defenders look stupid.
As for Parker's offense: the guy never knows where his shots are coming from. He gets stuck with the ball and forced to come up with something. That usually results in the fadeaways. They hardly ever set screens for him to get open looks. It's a waste of his talent if you ask me.

He helps a lot because we give us constant penetration and our frontcourt can defend the rim whatsoever

He's slower this year but not everything is his fault

AP has played well consistently UNTIL this season started. Right from the beginning of this season he looked horrible. Perhaps his age is catching up. But he does play very well as the back-up point guard for some reason.

everyone keeps reasoning about his age. i don't see Kobe or VC slowing down in their career who are in his age group. but i'd rather keep him than Krapono next season. Parker at least has some ball-handling and less turnovers.

Krapono sucks. I would be happy if we can get him for nothing. Most likely the other team will but him out LOL

Kobe and Vince are about 10x more athletic and skilled than Parker.

AP can make a great back-up 2 for us next year; he might even be able to play the 6th man role perfectly.
