Don't know how legit this rumour is, but according to an Israeli source Olympiakos from Greece is offering AP and pretty sweet deal. Considering his age now, he won't make better money then what they are apparently offering. Take the money and run Anthony.

His competiveness and heart?
Maybe he doesn't want to play in a league where the referees are fixing games and the league officials are more concerned with revenues and what the players wear to the arena before the game than the actual product on the floor. |

He really needs to clean up the league for 2008, starting with completely new officials sans some of the younger guys. I dont want to know one name of any referee coming up next year, they think theyre the fucking show and its fucking annoying. |

I think Garbajosa made it pretty clear that the NBA disappointed him somewhat. And you can't question his heart. I think he and Navarro would question the league's commitment to showcasing the best basketball, and that it is the best league by a reputation that they don't do much to back up. The NBA is seriously all about the money. The games are secondary. How many times have we heard - "it's a business first"? Eventually that kind of approach deteriorates what created the successful business model in the first place.

I agree with all of you in the sense that the NBA has a serious problem with the fact that everything seems to be about the money. But you should watch refereing here. Its fucking terrible, much much worse. Only thing is better is the fact that we dont have the "superstar" treatment where the lebrons dont get a thousand call in their favour.
The true reason many people cant stand the NBA outside the US is the fact that is much more individualistic that he international level. I personally think both styles have their pros and cons and IMO the perfect thing would be a fusion of both. Thats why I love the Raptors. Thats what I think they are trying to do. Not only because you are bringing international players, but with the idea that every player is important. Team play wins. Last edited by Belsius; 06-22-2008 at 08:57 PM. |
