Unhappy Panathinaikos Going Hard After Delfino Too

Rumour about this yesterday, but the Toronto Sun is picking this up now too that Panathinaikos are aggressively going after Delfino too.

First Parker and now Delfino? We could have a whole bunch of voids to fill this summer.

The Greek teams are pillaging our talent. Who's next? CB4?

I couldn't stand it if those two guys left. Anthony Parker was one of are most consistent players this year and was second on our team in scoring with 12.5 ppg. also he's a leader on the team and is co-captin to CB4. Delfino has gone from 10 mpg to 20-25 and has been our sixth man on a fairly deep bench. Not to mention he makes my heart studder when he shoots those three's from metre's away from the three point line! all in all parker and delfino are two of are best players and the Raptors should be sighning them before they go for any other UFA. Look at boston. were would they be if they didn't have glue players like posey house and powe.

there are good odds that delfino is a goner. He'd only get ~3 millions here, and he'll get a much better offer there. We can easily replace him using a part of our MLE. Probabluy Pietrus will be available for 4+ millions, and he's a better player than Carlos.

Delfino really doesn't give the team a different look other than what's also on the roster. This is no big loss, they only gave up a 2nd rounder to get him after all. I like him and if he goes I wish him luck.

I had heard rumors about Delfino some weeks ago but I don't think Pana has made an offer or will make an offer. I believe its just a managers' trick.

The Greek Celtics (Panathinaikos) wil sign a big name for sure (after the Olympiacos big signings) but I don't think that the big name will be Delfino.

I ll inform you as soon as I hear another name for Pana.

Panathinaikos is not taking Delfino as he took two other players in Delfino's position. But I have bad news in another topic...

I think losing delfino would hurt....It wouldn't be nearly as bad if we replaced him with someone like Pietrus as he can step in and play some Defence out of the 2/3 spot and hopefully start slowing down all the f#@%ng wing men that keep torching the raps every year..

On a side note.......is it too late to put a kybosh on this O'neal trade? It looks like we are going to lose Delfino, so what would be so wrong wiith Keeping who we have this year (well buy out Baston) and make TJ the 6th man scoring option off the bench full time. Screw his ego, he has the game to fit that role perfectly.....when he wants to be he is unstopable pretty much, and if he's not starting, his suspect D on the opposing starting PG won't be nearly as apparent or costly...We have enough scoring options without O'neal, and Roy Hibbert is 7 FOOT 2 nd can block shots and rebound!!! Isn't that what this trade for O'neal is for? He is at least a big body to throw out there against Howard and Dalembert and Ilgauskas ...and gives the Raptors a true Center!!! and not a PF trying to play Center. I think Rasho is a hell of a backup Center too, he had aolt of double doubles last year when he got some minutes and showed the ability to score down low.

Combine this with losing Defino (and hopefully replacing with with Pietrus ) and we would have:

Center: Hibbert/Nesterovic
PF: Bosh/Bargnani/Humphries
SF: Pietrus/Moon/Kapono
SG: Parker/Ukic/Hassan
PG: Calderon/ Ford/Ukic

Then buy out the worthless Joey Graham and try to go after a quality SG, but even without that, that roster seems pretty solid to me, especially a much improved defensive starting lineup.

sorry for the long read, but what do you guys think?

Would never happen in a million years. We can say "screw Ford and his ego" all we like, but the sulking would just be cancerous like it was when he was coming off the bench. There's no doubt Ford is talented, but he needs to be somewhere where his ego would be stroked too. Wasn't going to happen in Toronto and best of luck to him in Indiana.

We're already a stronger team on paper with Jermaine in the fold anyways. Toodles to Ford and it would appear now Delfino too.

BTW, welcome to RF bartron.

Yeah but Delfino has a choice right? I wouldn't think he would leave us like that. Or else that'll suck, real bad.
