Bob Loblaw took the ring!
Now it's time to do your thing!

Make one or two picks. The first one is set by vegas, and will give you a long distance 3. The second is a lob from me, and it's up to you to get above the rim and complete the two points. Miss and you'll lose two, in the same way the missed gimmes lead to easy points the other way in every NBA game you've ever seen.

You can choose to look the other way and just get back on defense, by making no second pick.

Be sure to make your picks in the poll. I won't be counting picks made within the thread unless something's gone awry for you with the poll - in which case be sure to let me know.

I'll keep track of the points and we'll get through 4 rounds of 20 games together.

GOOD LUCK!

Wow, 48hrs before tip off. :jack:

That won't happen again. The line from vegas never gets in sooner than the day before, except for the opener. I'll be hoping to get each one posted 24 hours in advance, though Vegas will on occasion hold back on setting the line until the morning of the game.

So, if I get the first one right, I get three points. But if I get the second one wrong, I lose two. So my total for the night would be one correct?

That is correct! which might be why you might choose to not make a second pick and just hope for the 3 points.

And unlike in past years, the two picks are unrelated. You do not need to get the first one right to score anything in the second.

Carlos Danger 10-28-2013 07:46 PM

Alright, sounds great. Love the improvement.

Thanks for doing this LX, adds another element to watching the games.

Metallikid 10-28-2013 09:25 PM

So if we make both picks correct we get five points?

yeppirs

so if you happen to miss a game - don't despair - you could get 5 in the next game while some others get -2.

box92 10-29-2013 01:10 PM

Thanks for doing this LX

LX 10-29-2013 07:29 PM

Another day left to make picks.

Metallikid 10-29-2013 08:37 PM

I predict there will be at least 10 players who play more than half the season and still end up in the negatives.

And yeah, thanks LX.

I think I'll just skip voting on second o/u next time. Too risky

Gurk 10-30-2013 11:16 AM

I want to see how far into the negatives i can get

bjjs 10-30-2013 05:00 PM

I'm sorry LX - but can you throw me in as a vote for over 4.5 on the assists to turnovers.

And here begins my descent into negative numbers.

Does it make sense to go negative? If one could start over at zero

DanH 11-01-2013 01:09 AM

Great start.
