I actually thoroughly enjoyed the entire opening sequence.

You know my only serious complaint was with the drums continuously pounding through breaks. And was Hubie there or was the audio just really dead way up where I was at?

Yeah that was pretty awful. The intros are supposed to pump the fans up not make them them laugh. It sucks because they made a whole video of the team crusiing on the road so its probably gonna be our intro for a while, but then again, its an intro, so who cares.

Welcome to RF spurious .... I'm assuming your the same spurious from scout.com?

Anyhow, I'm a little bit older now and I guess don't appreciate the hip-hop of today.

Hey guys, just stumbled on this board! Count me in as one who disliked the intro video/music as well. I can't imagine too many people back an intro that had people laughing instead of getting pumped up! Definitely my least favorite intro they've had in a few years.

Glad you stumbled and found us drog and welcome at the same time.

Yeah, their new intro definitely isn't like their "Renegades of Funk" from a couple seasons ago.

yeah, that's me.

that was hip-hop? i was thinking samba.

i agree with lx about the playing music through the game. i hate that. i can accept it at breaks when their flogging us with commercialism, but in-play music? blech.

i'm not a hockey fan but they know how to present a live show: dark stadium, lit-up ice/floor, the only sounds you hear are that of the game and the announcer. from what i've seen on tv, that's how they run hoops games at msg and i think staples, too. it brings the focus to where its supposed to be: the game.

i can only speak to my own experiences but as a guy that can't even name a leaf beyond sundin (and its not like i'd be able to pick him out on the ice, what's his number?) leaf games are riveting. you can hear the blades strike the ice, there's a mass-consciousness aimed at the play. raptor games seem intent on the the opposite: distraction, bright stadium with over-lit stands, commercial sundries, lousy snippets of lousy music.

it was a great game but the show could be presented much better.

I posted it at TOP I believe.

It's from Dec. of '06 against the Celtics. We sat four rows up from the bench.

My most vivid memory of the evening is Mitchell yelling, "Hey TJ! Just run the fucking play!"

Video: 3.5/10
Opening song/bench song: 3/10
Starter Video: 4/10
Starter Song: 8/10
Lighting/Ambiance: 9.5/10

Overall: Not too good. I like San Antonio's entrance because it has the old school pump up song. The one from spacejam!

Mannn, this year's intro is brutal. Kinda embarrassing, to be honest.

I could probably do a better job, using only still shot (photos), adobe flash, and some dope beat ()

I turned to my friend at the game and told him how embarassed I was at the intro. You look at the Celtics last year and it was a video montage and had KG screaming into the camera at onr point. That would have fired me up. I was so certain that it was going to be Kardi's"Set If Off" or Young Jeezy's "Put On.. (For my City)". We can only hope they change it mid-season like they did a couple of years ago.
At least it wasn't as bad as the intro a few years back (Beyonce's 'Crazy In Love').

song is annoying and video was terrible. Moon dancing was kinda funny. The only good thing was when they players got called in. With the red light. But whatever, hopefully they change it.
