O'neal gets start-- and hurt-- in debut

O'Neal gets start -- and hurt -- in Heat debut - NBA - Yahoo! Canada Sports
Quote:
MIAMI (AP)—Jermaine O’Neal left his first game with the Miami Heat midway through the third quarter Wednesday night after getting cut near his right eye.

O’Neal was struck by the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Mike Miller, who was called for a charging foul. O’Neal stayed down for a moment, then was helped into the Heat locker room, dabbing a towel at his face in an effort to control bleeding.

There was no immediate word on the severity of the injury, or if O’Neal was expected to return.

O’Neal was in the starting lineup, one day after practicing with his new team for the first time. O’Neal, who was acquired along with Jamario Moon from Toronto last week for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks, started at center.

“We only have 30 games left,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said before the game. “We need to start the process right now. Let’s get it going.”

Moon was active for the game, but not in the starting lineup. He entered at the start of the second quarter.
Well, not the knee. External cut is all.

Minny was beating them pretty good. Miami came back after JO went down. Still down 1. He left with 1 rebound, and the heat are getting killed on the boards. At least he got his required number of offensive touches.

I don't see how it's funny, the guy got hurt. Should we be happy we parted ways with the more injury prone party? Of course. But laugh at the injury, that's bush league.

This is already in the nba section(where it belongs). Not sure why it's also posted in Raps section...or why it's funny?

this thread is actually a true sign of how horrible some raps fans are.
you guys laugh at the guy for getting hurt his first game?
unless his name is Vince Carter, theres no reason to get joy from a former player getting hurt (even if its his first game on another team).
JO was a class act while he was here and didnt do a damn thing to warrant such hatred.
i'm surprised that some of you guys find this a reason to laugh.
