Bargnani talk all ends up being the same.

The talent is there. We all can see that.

Consistent production, for the most part, has not been there. We can all see that as well.

Opinions on whether or not he's going to break out are obviously going to differ, but he's got too much talent to write off and has been too inconsistent for anyone to guarantee a breakout.

He's still a mystery to some degree, because he hasn't really shown enough either way. Every discussion about the guy at this point basically comes down to "well lets see how he does this season"

I think that Bargnani will do much better, as he now knows what his role is on the team. Also, he has either Bosh or O'neal to rely on for the close up game, rebounding, you know, the stuff that he is bad at. So while they take care of that, he can spend more time perfecting his shot and solidifying his drive. If he can do that, the rest of his game will follow. He's got the talent, he just needs some confidence.

i say that they have to paly Bargs in a position he is sutied for, them trying to make him something hes not really doesnt help his case. Hopefully he turns shit around, i had my adnoids taken out a few years back and it does help with breathing a ton. Lets see how this guy does this year and hopefulyl he palys a role that he is comfortable and good at playing.

JO is smart enough to realize that the X-factor for Raptors success is Andrea Bargnani. We all know what we can get from Bosh, Calderon, Parker and a healthy JO but for Raptors to have any success in playoff, Andrea has to reach his potential and play consistently much better then last season. Andrea was a number 1 pick, he MUST have a breakout season! Good review mr JO!

With Bargani, I almost felt like his body is too quick for his brain, if you know what I mean. That explains those first steps as well as poor decision-making on the move - he seems very much pre-determined on offence, making up his mind early in the move, which in turn makes him relatively easy to defend off the dribble.

Bargnagni hasn't been successful b/c he doesn't fit a true position on the floor. He is not a true centre, not a quick enough player to play the SG and with CB4 on the floor he can't play the PF. I say play him off the bench for a couple of years untill he can harness his skills and step into a centre role. If the Raptors can find a way to make it work playing with more of 2 PF instead of a C the Raptors will be just fine. Keep playing Andrea off the bench untill JO 's contract is done and everything is gonna be alright.

i say he better get his act togher, we wasted our dam #1 pick on this loser and he isent preforming. Also At the time we picked him our team was headed in a very big "euro" direction. We should have gotten roy instead. If he doesnt prove him self this year he can add First Euro Flop at #1 pick to his list.

Michael Olowakandi would like to have a word...

And we really, really need to stop complaining about what could have been. Literally every team could do that.

I wonder if people are so hard on Bargs because he did so well his rookie season that they all jumped on the badwagon and then he hurt their feelings by playing so poorly last year?

He rushed everything on offense last season, right down to the simplest catch and shoot. Why? No idea. But it seems entirely curable. And meanwhile he developed in other areas. I can never figure why he was so loved in year 1 with nothing much more than the jumpshots, so much so that fans at games still orgasmed for half of a season 2 of bricks whenever he was open for a 3; and then he gets no love for working on expanding his game, and not entirely without some success. I think Andrea is a perfect example of how focussing on one guy's play can never tell that much of a story. At the end of the day he has a good chance of being able to make other guys better. But that never happens in an instant, unless your Lebron or Shaq perhaps.

Except Portland, actually. Have you seen their draft strategy the last 5 years? They are raping the NBA in draft ability! They are team "what could have been."

Their fucking starting lineup this year is going to be Jarryd Bayless, Roy, Travis Outlaw, LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden!!!!!!!

And off the bench they are bringing Nicolas Batum, Rudy Fernandez and/or Sergio Rodriguez (the 2 best guards from Spain not named Calderon or Navarro), Ike Diogou, Channing Frye and Joel Pryzbilla. Oh yeah and Martell Webster. Fuck that team is talented!
