Exclamation O'Neal and Calderon Doubtful for Magic

Ugh .... this ain't going to be pretty.

Or maybe I'm absolutely wrong because as Stress thinks we're a better team without Jose. So, thank god we have Solomon with us to save the day.

The Toronto Raptors will likely be without big guns Jermaine O’Neal and Jose Calderon for Sunday’s game against the Orlando Magic and possibly for one or both of next week’s road contests in Milwaukee and Washington.

Calderon went for an MRI on Saturday afternoon to have a hamstring strain checked, but neither he or O’Neal (swollen knee) were active participants in this morning's workout at the Air Canada Centre. Calderon missed two games earlier this season with a hamstring problem.

“We have to find out what’s wrong and if there is something there (fix it),” Triano said. “The swelling with Jermaine is going down, so that’s a good sign.”

Calderon was staying upbeat after an early season hamstring problem cost him two starts.

“It’s not the same (severity) as before, that’s why I’m more positive,” Calderon said. “I feel much better today, but it depends on the MRI.”

Both players were relieved the team didn’t throw in the towel on Friday in a 94-73 win over Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets, with Andrea Bargnani stepping into O’Neal’s shoes and doing a fine job of shutting down the NBA’s 7-foot-6 giant. On Sunday, it’s Orlando's Dwight Howard who is going to be the problem.

“It will be a bit different, but we have to stay with our principles as much as we can,” Triano said. “They’re a good team that shoots far more three-pointers than anyone else. We’re not only going to have to protect against (Howard) inside, but we have to get out to their three-point shooters as well.

“When you look at it, (the 26-7 Magic) lost their first two games of the year and only five since. That’s a pretty impressive team."

DAMN for sure loss. WE can only win if we contain everyone onthe floor.Howard doesn't matter. Even if he goes for 50 ppoints but the rest of the team is contained we might have a chance

this is getting very irritating.
just because i think jose isnt right for this team doesnt mean i like solomon as a player either.

i think this gives parker, kapono and Bosh a chance to make plays and give us a more fluent offense.

while solomon is an upgrade over Calderon on defense.

you shouldn't say things like this in public ...

I honestly have more confidence in roko than in chris paul. I realize that numbers don't back me up, but you have to agree that Paul gets a lot of his assists because of good shooters like Peja and by throwing alley-oops to chandler. And Roko is a MUCH better defender than Paul (no arguments to back this up, it just seems obvious ).

You can pretty much say anything you want when you choose to completely ignore stats.

JO being out makes Dwight Howard have to guard the perimeter. Unless they put him on Bosh and risk possible early foul trouble playing on the road.

If Bargnani is hot, he can win that match-up.

Nelson has had Jose's number for awhile now.

thats great, moremilk

with stats you could probably say that Calderon is a top point guard and totally ignore the fact that he's quite possibly the worse defender at his position in the league since stats don't exactly presume anything on defense.

you can pretty much say whatever you want when you look at boxscores.

One thing's for certain... we'll get a look at how much Solomon and Ukic have learned so far.

I'm looking fwd. to it.

If we cant win games at home in an underdog situation, we dont deserve to make the playoffs, i think we can still win
