I'd listen to Drake before Bieber. But Drake isn't bad for this team imo. At least he isn't yet. As long as he doesn't over step and poke his nose where it doesn't belong.

In the song in question, Drake's voice isn't audibly changed.

what does audibly mean? the gimmick that cher made famous is one example - and an exaggerated one at that - of what auto-tune can do. pitch correction is used all the time. you don't hit a note perfectly? just notch it up a semi-tone, and all of a sudden your in. wobble a bit at the end of that chorus? no worries, just tighten that up a bit.

the whole pop industry, and this includes a lot of hip hop, is in perfect pitch. that is otherwise extremely unlikely (and audible).

and lots of people record one track, pitch-correct the shit out of it, and then re-record a new track along over top of the pitch-corrected one because they can't carry a tune without a guide track (and this matters for rapping too). auto-tune is everywhere.

Just because it doesn't sound like puking robot it doesn't mean it's not autotune. Even bands like Metallika use it..

I'm saying that he could perform this song live without autotune and you wouldn't hear much difference. He's on SNL tonight so he might do just that. I realize that auto-tune is used in just about every song, but when you use the term what comes to mind is the gimmicky stuff that can get annoying, not audio correction that is used to make songs better.

For the haters out there (not speaking to 'trane in particular) the guy has an impact on pop culture and is an accomplished musician. We're lucky to have him represent the city and the team.

bro,

your shitting on someone who you know nothing about personally. sure he may make music you may not like, but MILLIONS of other people actually do like his music.

from what ive seen he has done nothing wrong or anything negative to this country or the Raptors organization. nor do i find him to be a bad person or have a bad attitude.

he was just on jimmy falon here is part of the interview

seems like a nice guy.

so maybe your the problem? not the mainland people?

Drake Is Clean Shaven For SNL

seems like a nice guy.

so maybe your the problem? not the mainland people?
1) I am entitled to my opinion about the guy and his music. I don't have to agree with everyone else about those two things, so I don't see myself as a so called "problem." I'm just someone with a different opinion that you don't agree with. I have no problem with that.

2) The reason why I responded to you the first time was because you were shitting on my province and the people from my province when all I gave was my opinion on the guy. It amazes me that every time I say I don't like the dude the majority of people on this forum get pissed off and say stupid things like "you should support him because" or "the dude posting is from Newfoundland, that explains why." Let everyone say there piece and don't respond with a stupid comment just because the person doesn't agree with you.

3) I clearly said "many mainland people", not every single one. I have visited Toronto, Ottawa, Oshawa and Kingston a combined total of 24 times for sporting events, standup comedy shows and visiting family. Most of the people that I have talked to have been rude assholes that have this negative perception about people from both the Atlantic and western provinces without any reason. Either way, I have said my piece and I'm moving on from this discussion

Then don't spout off your opinion as fact, especially when it's something as subjective as musical taste. You don't have to like his music or support him, but you don't have to hate him either. He's a nice enough guy from what we all see, unless you have met him personally and he was an asshole, what reason do you have to hate him as much as you do? He clearly has experience creating a popular product and loves the city and team, why should he not be a part of this team?

pitch correction doesn't make songs better, it hides shitty singers from having to display talent. i'll take a good singer who doesn't hit every note perfectly over a crappy one that has a computer do it for them. this is exactly why so many performers lip synch. and it ruins music because (especially when combined with corporate song writers) it means that celebrity 'musicians' are nothing but performers - puppets made of meat. i miss music that is written, recorded and performed by musicians, by real artists. the rest of this stuff is just acting.

When was this? Back in the day many musicians and bands had songs written for them. They would get songs handed to them. Song writers made great money.....nowadays everyone seems to say they write their own songs.
