Why have the poll ? Jack is our starter right now and is playing well. Banks has stepped up and is playing well. Jose is hurt and he can take his time and heal up properly..no need to rush back.

I'm not completely sold on Banks, but you can't deny the perimeter defence especially the point guard position has improved. Also that's against 2 of the fastest point guards (Devin Harris & Chris Paul) in the NBA. Chris Paul just destroyed the Nuggets Friday night by scoring 30 points, 18 assists, and 9 boards. You have to appreciate the work Jack and Banks have done on the defensive end.

I wish Jose a speedy recovery. Bring your best defensive game when you come back.

Jack should start... Banks should come off the bench...

and Calderon should play in a different city.

Defence at the PG spot cannot be underestimated.

What happens Banks continues his play for the next two or three weeks. We'll be playing Detroit twice this week (Stuckey, Will Bynum), Boston (Rondo) twice by Jan 10, and be seing SA (Parker & Hill), and Philly (Louis Williams & Iverson) very soon, what happens if Jack & Banks continue to fill the void with the departure of Calderon. The good thing about the thread it shows that players are stepping up in the absence of others. Now, if only someone can find Belli. He's been missing for more than a month.

Didn't Banks win defensive player of the conference in College or something?

I remember last year when he came in for a game he had like 3 turnovers and shot 2 airballs. And I was one of the only ones on the forum that said he deserved a chance to shake off the rust because of his awesome defence.

No one's saying he's more talented that Calderon.. no one. What the argument is here is...since we have Bosh Bargnani and Turkoglu who score 60+ points a night, and we have some firepower on the bench +JJ ... isn't some defence at the PG position more important than a Calderon (who is a redundant offensive force with our starting lineup)?

banks is doing well and i am happy about it, but comparing him to Calderon is not an idea to be taken seriously..

First I'm not a Calderon hater,but it's true I didn't like how he plays this year.He was great in Tau Ceramica,but there're such european players who couldn't be so good like they played in Europe.What Raptors need is defence and Banks and Jack could make it better than him,they're more athletic.Why souldn't Triano try Banks,we've showed patience to Calderon and Jack.Be patient,it couldn't be worse than now.Banks wants to play so give him a chance.

I like Banks' defence and he hasn't been bad on O. But still he's 3rd string until he puts together a string of great games. Jack should start anyways. I'm not even a fan of Jose's game but he is better than banks as of right now.
