Default One negative about the Bulls game

Being fatigued on the back end of a back to back is no longer a legitimate excuse for lacklustre play.

The team clearly showed that they are professional athletes, who have the energy to work two days in a row.

Was it ever a legitimate excuse? Every team plays back-to-backs.

Oh no. THat means that Jay can't use that excuse anymore./sarcasm

Well that's really good. Professional players should be able to compete in a back to back no matter what. Although there is one thing with last night, CHI was also on a back-to-back

So the negative is that they can't use fatigue as an excuse in back to backs? Ok... How is that a negative from the bulls game?

It's a big negative, because it's one less excuse that the Raps have in their toolbelt to deflect unwanted criticism.

That's a huge negative. Probably cost them 4 or 5 games atleast. Just from mental stress trying to create new excuses. They got some work ahead of them.

they used their energy much more efficiently over those two games

and they went up against a team that definitely looked tired

but no - they have been through all the travel and have come through the other side

oddly enough - when you contain your opponent defensively, it's easier to play whole games without being absolutely frantic

They played some great basketball for the first 15 minutes against the Hawks, and they all got devastated after that loss because they actually were playing quite hard at the start of that game.

It's like they hit rock bottom, but against Chicago they started smiling again and when you're having fun, you got a lot of energy. Especially if you havn't been having fun for a while.

Schedule etc causing fatigue is only a special excuse for 7 footers over 30 and guards over 35. A young team like the Raps, fatigue is all mental.

Rasho is the only one who should be able to play the fatigue card.

good point about the mental fatigue. I still think they did themselves in by playing hard so often and not having much to show for it. It's just playing hard in all the wrong areas. Now they go down to the offensive end and play with an ease that their natural talents can afford them - and particularly with a mental ease. Then they can go back on defense and really let it hang out. And positive effects there, start to make it even easier on the offensive side.

They had everything ass backwards before. They got into this running game to start games so often, and everybody had to work to expand on their offensive games. But they never came together as a team throughout a game that way, and when the mistakes started happening they couldn't get back on defense, sometimes due to some physical fatigue, but largely mentally I would guess. I mean - that happens when you do things ass backwards.

I agree 100%.

The ONLY time I'll buy the fatigue excuse is if they play a double OT game the night before.

Where's Claudius? I want to know what he thinks now.

Still fail to see that as a negative, let alone a big negative.

With the minutes he plays, fuck that. He's playing every couple games for 8 minutes. Fatigue my ass!

Perhaps this time Chicago was a lot more tired? Playing Cleveland in a tough loss and with a short bench.
Apart from Bosh and Demar we weren't too spectacular either

The excuse is that the Rators have played 6 back to backs more than anyone else.
Plus have played more games.
Yes it shouldn't matter but statistics say that yeams playing back to backs against teams that haven't have a losing %

One positive that came out of the Chicago game (and the Washington game) is that at least we know Hedo Turkoglu is physically capable of diving for loose balls (ergo caring). I had my doubts, but he did it twice.
