Once again NBA underestimated the $$
Everyone as of a week ago was saying Hedo couldn't get his 10Mil... Marion wasn't gonna get anything over 7Mil some even going so far to suggest he'd be lucky to get the MLE. Over and over we kept hearing, in this economy he'd be lucky to get MLE or in this economy players are gonna have trouble cashing in. Really?
Hedo (5yrs/53Mil)- 10Mil/yr Gordon (5yrs/55Mil)-11Mil/yr CV (5yrs/35Mil)- 7Mil/yr Ariza (5yrs/33Mil)- 6.8Mil/yr Artest (3yrs/18Mil)- 6Mil/yr The fact is Artest took less money to play with Kobe. And Ariza took less money then he was offered (from toronto) to go Houston, so both could have recieved 8Mil/yr. So looking at that list i think Colangelo overpayed a little, sure....but he did just fine. Add to that Marion may get 8+Mil/yr. BC did good. Better then last summer imo. I'll take Hedo @ 10Mil/yr over Gordon (11Mil/yr). BTW, what is Detroit thinking? |

Detroit
, they take an undersized 2 guard and a soft PF. Man, i used to love that team like 4 years ago. Now they have stuckey, gordan, villinueva, maxill, and a bunch of question marks surrounding the team. |

its more like 5yrs/90Mil they play at the same time, not 5 years for 1 guy and then 5 for the next guy 7 million/yr for CV isn't too mad, but the 11/yr for gordon is way too much |

detroit has gone insane, they have no size, no defense and they're paying 22 million at SG. And their starting center is Kwame Brown and are paying 5/yr to maxiell to play 15 mpg. Not sure what their master plan is, but from trading billups, extending rip for 11/yr, signing kwame brown, and throwing major bucks at gordon/cv, it's like they're trying on purpose to be bad.

well i think what happened was they realized the core that won the championship could no longer exist and be successful because of age, ben wallace leaving, etc.
2 years ago they proved to be good but definitely at a level below competing for the ring so they went and risked it all in AI, which in the end was an ok choice because they got cap relief out of it too but now they find themselves with cap and no serious FAs, so they went out and took the 2 most promising guys, so it kind of makes sense the thing that makes the less sense is that AI didn't work because all of a sudden there was him, stuckey and rip and they couldn't figure out what to do, now they just replaced AI with gordon, whose mentality is exactly the same they don't look like they care for sheed by taking CV, so they pretty much took away some D and gained some offense so in actuality they just leveled themselves back to last year |

i think our starting line up next year will be Bargs/Lee,Bargs/Lee,Marion,Turkey Glue,Calderon. Followed by a questionable Bench. but, i bet you it'll just end up working out good and better than expected. we'll have derozan and we could re-sign parker, delfino is still probable, kleiza, roko,
actually, something just popped into my head we trade Bosh and banks in the same deal to like new york. then, we get lee, someone else and someone else. but, i think new york gets more cap to take on. we get some cap relief and we could have some extra money to spend. |
