You make it seem like if there is any resistance the guy's career is going to be over
there is some resistance.

The whole point of these leagues/ games are to keep you game shape
i would say the point is to keep your offensive game in shape. I would love to see what would happen if there was a hard foul in these games. i think there would be some very hard stares!

We can't always be racing for points, that's mentality that has killed this team
these games have nothing to do with how the raps will play next season.

But hey when it happens during the season he will just point Bargs for not picking up the switch, when his man blows by him and everyone will forget what train wreck he is on D
these games have nothing to do with how the raps will play next season.
Guy,
I'm not saying they should go out and flagrant each other. I'm only suggesting these games shouldn't be written off as sub par all star games. Derozan is an asset to this team, his development as a player on both sides of the ball is critical to this team's next season. He can shot jumpers any where. So I guess the bigger question is he playing these games for monetary gain or to gain a larger skill set. I would hope it is the later. The biggest gap in his game is his D. So I would hope getting 27 pts dropped on you by a yet to be rookie would get under your skin.

Also these guys have playing ball as professionals or in college, if you can't come up a spontaneous Defensive tactics as team, what does that say about your commitment to that side of the ball.

Demar's D is closer to where it needs to be then anybody else on the team. He has great instincts..unforuntately he was playing for a coach who had a narrow-minded approach which included Demar playing up the passing line in denial every minute of every game.

10 games under Casey and all of a sudden people will be praising Demar for 'improved' defense.

I'm no rocket scientist but maybe he thinks someone on this team is closer to where they need to be defensively than Derozan? Myself i would put Davis, JJ, and Bayless ahead of him on D.

These games play like allstar games.....filled mostly with scrubs. But they are keeping stats and reporting them to the public.

So don't forget that the one thing you have to lose as an NBA player is to be held to 4 points in one of these games.

When they say Durant scored over 60 points, that's all anyone cares about.

Now, me and my friends can play a game against a team of 50-sonethings. They can shoot 3's all day and run up the score, but the one thing that can't happen is they can't hold me to 2 points. That's humiliating.

I think Bayless and Jose may be facing the toughest opponents in today's NBA at least those that aren't playing in the paint.

well derozan is always pitted against the best wings of this league most of the games just because of his athletic ability. who else was triano supposed to use against them? weems and johnson? julian wright?

My opinion.

Winners bust ass. Period. I've seen a few clips of Jordan, and surely of Kobe playing pick up games..... they would rather die than let guys score.

These leagues are exactly whats wrong with Basketball.

Honestly.

It's no big deal, but i'm just saying.... the true stars... the ones that have greatness in um... they don't know any other way but to win. And to crush the opponent.

I always found it funny watching streetballers talk shit after they score on some dudes that aren't even playing defence.

I would agree that if Demar was playing a pickup game with established pros, that he should be showing more intensity. The fact that he doesn't while playing with streetballers and kids that think they have something to prove does not make him any less of an MJ. The fact that he isn't MJ has everything to do with that.

And MJ's pickup games were still pickup games. Let's not kid ourselves. The greats always battle, but they also know how to ratchet up the intensity a great deal as the games grow in importance.

It would be nice if DeMar could lay out all kinds of cash and build his own temporary court while on the set of Space Jam Compton, invite his NBA friends and sweat it out on both ends of the court, rather than have to defend kids with nothing to lose alongside teammates that have no clue or no inclination to do anything more than make it on YouTube with a dunk. Unfortunately it's not going to happen. If he can get these sorts of games to serve some sort of purpose, while working hard on his own as he's been apt to do, then it's not the end of the world, unless you expected him to be MJ, or Kobe.

Oh dude, don't get me wrong, it ain't the end of the world at all.

Those game are stupid is all. I don't get them. Never will.... it's like, serious players, with zero work ethic or pride.

I guess I'm just old.

I like DD though... I'm sure he works harder somewhere else.

yeah, i know man, was just exaggerating for effect!

your point was well made, i just can't agree with you on it. I'd be really surprised if any of these guys are playing with money in mind. I reckon they're playing because they like basketball, wanna keep fit and wanna keep sharp. I know you feel like DD should be showing more defensive intensity, fair enough. I would be willing to bet if DD came up against shumpert in an nba game tomorrow shumpert would not get 27pts.

i just feel the vibe of these games has been established and i don't see why DD should go against that. Also, the types of plays that are ocurring just aren't what you'd see in the nba anyway. There are no Cs and PFs filling up the lane, the drive by is so much easier, the step back is easier because the drive is so much easier. It's all linked in, street ball basically. I would argue DD would learn more in the 1st scrimmage with the raps with casey looking on than in all these games they are playing right now.

Some quite good dunks by Demar in this Baron Davis charity game

They seem to have an awesome chemistry together
