jose & Bargs plus our pick for iggy and 76ers pick.
draft P Jones, sign dragic and illyasova. Dragic/bayless/uzoh derozan/anderson/forbes iggy/P Jones/JJ/anderson illyasova/Ed/P Jones JV/Gray it's a starting 5 casey would really like IMO. Certainly the front 3 with the hopes of the back-court continuing to improve. Last edited by LKeet6; 04-20-2012 at 04:15 PM. |

Marcus Thornton will make at least 7.5 million for the next 3 years. Also, if M.Thornton's coming here than DD is being dealt. Lastly, no to P.Jones III. First of all, he's a PF. Same with T.Robinson. Second of all, he already plays for Minnesota

Thornton is on par or better than DD. Also, DD would eventually ask for his extension. + DD can't play SF full time. I'm all for accumulation of assets though.

There is plenty of time for both. Nobody plays 40 mins a game and wing depth is a good thing. We unloaded Barbosa, who we found plenty of minutes for, and replaced him with nothing..... so why couldn't DD and MT co-exist? Many teams have numerous wings that get plenty of playing time.

I know what you mean, but both are just scorers. M.Thornton does have a decent SPG + he can hit the 3 much better than DD can. DD has some height + gets to the line. Both aren't exactly playmakers. Both are similar rebounders. I just don't want to see two guys who play the same position make similar $.

I actually detest hypothetical trades, and am almost kicking myself for posting in this thread...however, an idea just hit me.
If we slip in the draft, (or with a couple of wins in the last couple of nights of the season), would a draft-night trade work for us and the Celtics? Do you think we could pick Austin Rivers, and do something like our pick (Rivers)+ Ed Davis (they'll need some front-court help with JO possibly done there, and an aging Garnett)+ sweeteners, for their pick and Rondo? If we moved back, we could take a flier on somebody like T Jones, or Doron Lamb, or Marquis Teague, Tony Wroten, or somebody who slips out of the lottery on draft night? I like it for us, because we can try to address 2 needs at one time (maybe solidify PG and pick up a prospect SF, or some back-court help), and I think it works for the Celtics, as it seems as though they have been wanting to get rid of Rondo, and this gives them a quick rebuild on the fly with 2 good prospects who can mentor under their vets. Would this even work? Good/Plausible for both teams? I usually don't work too well with the hypothetical. |

I know I posted this in the Drajic & Iliasova thread...buti just wanted more people to see it!
Drajic/Jose/Uzoh Gordon/Forbes/1st DeRozan/JJ/Anderson AB/Iliasova JV/grey/Mags/Alabi We sign Eric Gordon then we sign & trade Bayless/Amir & a 2nd to Houston for Drajic. Then we sign & trade Davis & Kleiza & our other 2nd for Iliasova. We keep our 1st pick. This is a bonified playoff team for years to come IMO |

jk ![]() Seriously, why would you want Ilyasova coming off the bench behind Bargs? IMO he would be much more suited to play starting SF where he can shoot the 3 and his rebounding and ability to play the 4 can offset Bargs. Having your starting frontcourt that is 6-10, 7-0, and 7-0 with long arms is fairly appealing to myself. Then I would draft Marshal and go after Mayo and have a line of Marshal/Mayo/Ersan/Bargs/JV. |

not a horrible trade. However, with the final roster Bankiz has presented, the raps would be doomed with only 1 3 point shooter in the starting lineup.
