While part of me agrees, if the opportunity is there I would think teams absolutely needs to take it, cause there may not be another knock on the door again, so to speak.

Exactly. Plus, we have youth at every position on this team and we're gonna be adding 1 or maybe even 2 more next week. How much younger are we gonna get? BC even said a month ago, at some point you have to say we have enough youth and it's time to start adding other more experienced pieces.

trade 1 :

6# + booker + blatche

for

davis + barbosa + tpe + 2nd round 2013.

whasington get more flexibilities for the new cba, and for the postseason.
davis will improve their frontcourt alongside Mcgee.
Barbosa will bring them some changemaker player in offense.
the tpe and barbosa expirings are go money to been under the new cba.
We should negociate with barbosa to get him coming back to be trade in another rebuilding team.

trade 2 :

bargs + tpe + 2nd rd 2012
for
diaw + 9#

charlotte gets money and a solid pf/c scorer. that change a little their system with barg, but i think because they are a defensive mindset team, they can incorporate Bargs. and he will be happy about the weather.

we get another high pick, and a solid sf/pf, and expirings, if he don't stay that put us in a good situation next year.

5# + 6# + 9#
with a roster :
bayless/calderon
DD/
JJ/diaw/kleiza
amir/Blatche
booker/alabi

even if you choose the BPA at the position in the draft you can do great :
5#: a pg, i don't know, i think bayless Calderon can do it one more season: so i would rather take
Valanciunas
we bring even only in 2012 a prospect center who care to defend.
6#: so if we take Valanciunas as 5, we can take lonard, and bring a young sf defender.
9#: i think we can take TT as our new rookie PF or bucks as a backup sg for DD.

one :
bayless/calderon
DD/
JJ/diaw/kleiza(injury)/Leonard
amir/Blatche/TT
booker/alabi/valanciunas

or
two :
bayless/calderon/walker
DD/bucks
JJ/diaw/kleiza(injury)
amir/Blatche
booker/alabi/valanciunas

in both case we should resign weems for a low contract as a backup sg, dorsey too as the 3rd center or evans for cheap; and (if we don't bring one in the draft) bring a 3rd pg to be here in case like this year jose and JB be injured at the same times.

I would do 2nd trade even tho it favors Charlotte. Getting rid of Bargs is worth it

Davis and Barbosa I rather keep

Heres a couple of trades:

Detroit out:
Rip, #8, T. White

in
Jefferson

Detroit adds a legit bigman to pair with Monroe making a very formidable frontcourt.

Stucky
Gordon
Prince?
Monroe
Jefferson

Utah trades:
Jefferson, #12

gets:
Rip, #5

Utah adds a legit sg and gets the 5 with which they can maybe get Knight which they are rumored to be selecting Kanter at 3 and still want knight.

Knight/Harris
Rip
Miles
Millsap
Kanter

Toronto trades:
#5

gets:
#8 and #12 and T White

toronto adds the salary and gives away the top pick but at least adds a couple of defensive guys(Leonard and Biyombo)

Jose/Bayless
Demar
Leonard
Bargs
Biyombo

Or

Utah trades:
Jefferson, #12

gets:
Amir, Kleiza, #5

Utah gets the #5, High energy bigman and some depth at sf

Bucks trade:
Bogut, Delfino

gets:
Jefferson, TPE

Bucks add some scoring down low and saves a little money.

Toronto trades:
Amir, Kleiza, #5, small TPE

gets:
Bogut and the #12

Toronto adds a true center with defense and a later pick for depth up front(Leonard?, Biyombo?) and capspace on depth pg

Jose/Bayless
Demar/Barbosa?/Weems
JJ/Delfino
Bargs/Davis/Dorsey?
Bogut/Biyombo?/Alabi

You forgot to add where Varejao and Gibson fit in the lineup :P But if they'd go for that deal I'd take it all day!

I would absolutely love to see Bogut as a Raptor.

One of my favourite players in the league, and that guy will bring us a mean streak that we haven't seen since the Oakley/Childs days...

That's not bad Jeff. I think for a starting lineup, I would rather see Smith at SF and Davis at PF. This would improve the team's defence and rebounding dramatically.

Butler could backup DD at the 2-guard while Barbosa moves to the backup PG spot.

Or instead of dealing Amir, including JJ. He would be a good fit in Atlanta.

Trade 1:

chicgo gets barbosa
toronto gets 28# + 30# + ASIK

CXhicago gets a solid and experience guard, a changemaker, what they really need coming of the bench to score.

Toronto gets 2 late pick and a young center, who had show some goods.

Trade 2:
GSW gets #2 + Bargnani + tpe
Minny gets Ellis + 28#
Toronto gets 11# + 20# + Milicic

GSW try to rebuild, so a 2# can help, and Bargnani can bring some point missing by ellis.

Minny gets his 2 guard who can bring some scoring and steal.

toronto gets a solid center, and two mid-pick.

trade 3 :
portland gets 5# + 30#
toronto gets batum + tpe

portalnd need to bring some change, and two more rookies can bring some, or been asset to trade.

toronto gets a legit SF defender, and some money. Batum is only 22.

in fact we keep the 11# + 20#
we can draft TT at 11# + a young guard at 20#

Bayless/calderon/20#
DD/brewer
Batum/JJ/kleiza
Davis/amir/TT
Milicic/Asik/alabi

trade 1:
toronto gets Jamison + session + TT.
Cleveland gets tpe + Bargnani + davis

cleveland save money and get rid of jamison, and they get a TT-ready to NBA type with davis, and a real big center who can score.

we get a futur flexibility next year with the expiring of jamison, and a young prospect PF, with a real good PG.

Trade2:
toronto gets Milicic + W.Johnson
Minny gets 2013 first pick + calderon.

Minny grab a mentor for rubio who can speak with him and a first pick.
they get rid of a SF, they have too many (DW, Beastley, webster)
we get a solid defensive center, and a young SF 3s J.

Session/bayless
DD/?-barbosa/*FA*
JJ/WJ/kleiza
Amir/TT/jamison
Milicic/*FA*/alabi

trade 1 :
barg + davis
for
gortat + pietrus + 2012 first pick.

suns gets a prospect pf who will replace amar'e and barg who will replace frye in their system.

we get a good center, plus a good SF defender + a first pick in a great class draft.

trade 2:
barbosa
for
asik + charlotte 2012

chicago gets a real sg, what they need to score and change the game. especially attack.

Trade 3 :
charlotte gets : Calderon + charlotte 2012
cleveland gets : tyrus thomas + suns 2012
toronto gets : biyumbo + Tristan T + session

cleveland gets a young but ready PF who can defend and score. i will be more suitable with irving to run the team, than JJ hickson.

and we grab two big men prospect + 2 centers, a defender SF and a solid pg :

Session/bayless
DD/weems
JJ/pietrus/kleiza
amir/TT/Biyumbo
Gortat/asik/alabi

we will not be a very good team this next season, but that put us in good shape for the next with JV and a new solid rookie in 2012.

Bankiz- Not sure if Phoenix is willing to take Bargnani. You said he would replace Frye, but I think with Frye, Bargnani is unnecessary. The Suns don't have a problem with scoring, so "replacing" Frye with Bargnani isn't needed. Of course, it wouldn't make sense with Bargs and Frye on the same team because of repetitive talent.

That 3rd trade is so lopsided for us its not even funny...

And Bargs and davis for gortat and pietrus I don't like either, I'd rather keep Davis.

Let's get this thread rolling again. Since it seems that if the season ever does start, we will be uber bad. Hypothetically of course, lets say we land the top pick in the lottery and Andrea Drummond falls in our laps. In the off-season, I say we trade Andrea for a legit starting small forward, Rudy Gay to be exact.

To Memphis:

Bargnani
Amir Johnson
James Johnson
Picks and/or Cash

Z-Bo is the perfect compliment to Andrea, as he would mask his lack of rebounding. Memphis loses their primary scorer, but they can now allow Marc Gasol to walk with Bargs there to occupy the center position. This will also give OJ the chance to be the prolific scorer he was projected to be when he came out of college. Also get a nice backup bigman and a capable starting 3.

Conley
Mayo/Henry
Battier/JJ
Randolph/Amir
Bargnani/Arthur

To Toronto:

Rudy Gay

Toronto gets that coveted All-Star caliber small forward to compliment DeMar on the wings. We can then slide Drummond over to the 4, with Jonas playing the 5. Davis is the perfect first big off the bench because he brings instant energy to the game. We would need to find a free agent center to backup Jonas (Marc Gasol perhaps? ). If Bayless could reach his full potential, watch out.

Bayless/Calderon
DeMar/Barbosa
Gay/Kleiza
Drummond/Davis
Jonas/Gasol

Ah, dreaming is fun.

EDIT: In case you missed it, Andrea Drummond is a man child. Drummond + Valanciunas = Dynasty.
