Hi guys, huge Raptors fan in the uk here, 1st post!

what do u think of the chances of getting the knicks to part with fields? melo is going to eat his minutes and he has struggled big time since the trade. the question is do the knicks still view fields as the guy from the start of the season or the guy who is struggling now?

i can see Bargnani fitting into the knicks/d'antoni style. if the knicks would give us fields and turiaf i would do that deal. Ronny would give us that veteran inside grit that we need so badly and fields has a really big upside IMO, which now looks like it won't happen at the knicks. Am i being unrealistic? maybe if we added one more piece to the deal?

trade 1 :

tor gets redick + andersen + orlando first 2011 + duhon.
orlando gets Bargnani + R evans + weems

orlando gets a productive pf (barg) to put some point and be out of the way of d12 under the paint.
and evans who can backup d12 at rebounding machine.

toronto gets a great backup sg (good 3s shooter and hard worker) and a replacement for barg position-shooter. a 3rd pg and a late first round.

trade 2 :
chicago gets barbosa
toronto gets asik + miami first 2011 + charlotte first 2012

Chicago gets a solid bench pg/sg, who can lead the second unit with watson and gibson.
Toronto gets 2 late first pick and a prospect center who has show that he can be a good center.

trade 3:
GSW gets miami 2011 + orlando 2011 + charlotte first 2012 + Calderon + kleiza
toronto gets curry + biedrins

GSW gets some picks, a solid QB pg and a productive sf/pf. they make ellis happy by sending curry away,

curry/bayless/duhon
DD/redick/bayless
JJ/J.wright/draft
davis/amir/andersen
FA/biedrins/asik/dorsey

waived alabi and resign dorsey for a low contract.
we can sign a center like dalembert.

because of the new cba, i expect teams to do many trade before 1st july.

Those trades won't work.

Trade 1 - Evans and Weems are free agents, thus they cannot be traded.

Trade 2 - Barbosa is a free agent, thus cannot be traded.

Trade 3 - GSW won't give away Curry/Andris for an injured Kleiza and old Calderon... doesn't make any sense.

I have a good trade right here.

NBA Trade Machine - ESPN

Projected lineup

PG: Kyrie Irving / Jerryd Bayless / Jeff Teague
SG: DeMar DeRozan / Leandro Barbosa
SF: Josh Smith / James Johnson
PF: Ed Davis / Amir Johnson
C: Al Horford / Reggie Evans

1. they are not free agent yet, not until the 1st july.
so if the trade happens during the draft night they can go.
2. same as point 1.

3. old Calderon ? funny how we can be old at 28. and he has one of his best season this year. so, i think he can be match with ellis, because he didn't need to score as much as curry.and question defense i put jose and curry at the same level.
andris is a not a good bet for them so far; so i bet they prefer send him away in a curry deal. so if we manag to put some first pick with all of that i can see that happen. but i'm afraid they would ask for the toronto 2011 pick, and that can't happen, because irving can be much better in the futur than curry. who knows.
in the matter of kleiza, yes he is injured, but i think he will be in good shape at his return, and GSW really need some big guy at the 3/4 spot.
if they lack something that is in the 3/4 spots. eve, coming of the bench kleiza can bring them better thing than their actual player.
and 3 first round (even two late) it's better than many team can offer for curry.

1. S&T

2. Barbosa is not a free agent unless he declines his player option for next season @ 7.8MIL which is unlikely

3. Couldn't agree more

would be great if you're right, I think GSW will try for at least one more year to make it work. Going on the previso of our O is fine we just need to sort out a team D.

I wish, this would never happen seeing that Atlanta beat the Magic and going in to the semis. Lol our wins only go up by 9 and their loses go down by 14

Why do that trade? & why would orlando do that trade? They give away the best big in the game & get 3 middle of the road players & a point guard of which they already have Jameer...

I could actually see Howard getting traded for Bynum at some point

They'll get rid of Jameer. Amir is a very good 2-way big and Bargs is a legit 22 ppg scorer. Kyrie Irving has been hyped to no end this year.

As for why we would do this trade? Are you frickin serious

Give up our best assets for Dwight Howard who would probably leave when hes a free agent, and take on Hedo 'the sloth' Turkoglu's massive contract? So in one year it'll leave us without assets and D12, but we are back at square one with Hedo Turkoglu as the franchise player. Actually, more like square -500.

Give it up, we're giving up our best assets but getting a superior asset. If we got Dwight and paired him with DeMar and Ed next year, that team would be fucking amazing extension or not, and Dwight would probably have to consider. If he doesn't consider, you can shop him at the deadline.

Turkoglu is a good fit in between Bayless, DeMar, Ed, Dwight. He doesn't have to play major minutes either, James Johnson has shown to be pretty awesome.

Between James Johnson, Ed Davis and Dwight Howard, our shotblocking would be off the charts.

I dunno, I see it as going for a serious home-run, high-risk, high-reward, and putting faith in some of your young talent.

Hedo would never play here again..... and I'm sure we'd never trade for him again. Unless there is other filler you can think of, that is one deal that has zero chance of happening.

ya...fucking amazing indeed

the whole knock on the magic has been and still is how they haven't assembled a good enough team and its basically dwight carrying them.
the magic have better players surrounding dwight then our team would if this trade happened.....
they lost in the 1st round this year, so how far do u think we can go?

and to think that hedo would actually do anything positive is a joke....people say he sucked with us because we didn't use him right. he sucked in phoenix because they didn't use him right. now he's back to the magic where he had success and he still sucks. so when is it time to just realize he just SUCKS?! i don't care what he did....if you need the team to adjust to you, because of the type of player you are, in order to be successful when it should be you adjusting to the type of team, then ur pretty much useless.
why the superstar treatment for someone that was never an allstar when "everything went right" for him

having hedo included in this trade actually devalues what we are getting and again, why the hell would the magic do this trade.....but you can make the case that it is fair because it makes both teams worse

If you don't think that a starting line up of

Bayless
DeMar
Turkoglu
Ed Davis
Howard

can be a force to be reckoned with than I guess I just feel pretty sorry for you.

BTW, that lineup CRUSHES:

Nelson
Richardson
hedo
Bass
Dwight

wow....you must be the only person that thinks our line up would CRUSH the magic line up. i feel pretty sorry for you.
you think that line up could advance to the 2nd round?
if were talking as of right now:
nelson > bayless
richardson > DDR
bass > ed

future wise who knows? if bayless turns into nelson in his prime we should be ecstatic. if DDR turns into jrich in his gsw days we should be happy. ed should be better than bass in the future, if expectations are met.

and you still haven't responded to why the hell we would want hedo....which probably negates this whole argument in the first place
