I suggested the first before. It needs to be done. I like Ty but Kaman has greater size and is an expiring. The 2nd proposal is fair but I rather see TO clear cap space by letting GV go,buying out Salmons for 1M and if they had Kaman, letting him walk too. After that they could possibly make Greg Monroe a decent RFA offer depending on what they offer Lowry and if he re-signs.

what about trade with cleveland, they are reportedly not happy with Jack's performance and looking for options. His contract is big imo, but you could unload chuck hayes:
Jack for GV and Chuck Hayes. If Lowry walks after season, at least you have a proven PG (seems like fans here like JJ). Well if not, that would be expensive point guard position...

Tor trades John Salmons for Caron Butler.

We save 1 million buyout next year.

both trades not bad. OKC second is joke, we save 1 million on Salmons deal and get back Miller and Chandler who both expire next year as the third year on Chandler's deal is a team option. Downside Miller on his last legs and we could potentially re-sign Vasquez to a nice long-term cap friendly deal as he's currently struggling. Vasquez still has a lot of upside to be a really good back up pg. But we get back Chandler who I think is a pretty decent wing player as well. Fair trade, it just comes down to do you want Vasquez at a capfriendly deal for future if you believe in him or do you want Chandler who's pretty decent and playing like the better player now, but will get paid more than double.

Chandler has more value than everything in this deal.

Yeah Mil wouldn't do it. But they did some crazy things like sign OJ Mayo and take Caron Butler in outright, so you never know.

Can someone tell me if this deal works out financially

Fields, Vasguez, Hayes, Okc 2014 2nd, Sac 2014 2nd, 2016 TOR 1st

for

Chandler, Miller, Faried

Sign Sefolosha and draft a PG in Elfrid Payton(my favourite dark horse prospect averaging - 20.2pts, 5.6ast, 6.3reb and 2.6stl in 37 minutes for Louisiana when he's only 19!)

Lowry/Payton/Miller
DeRozan/Sefolosha/Salmons
Ross/Chandler
Faried/Patterson/Hansbrough
JV/Johnson

Payton gets to his already terrific defence and rebounding under Lowry and improve his passing and handling under Miller

Easily best young team in the east. Over the Pacers.

As I see raps right now, I think the best way for this team is try to grow similarly to Indiana. So keep the core: Lowry (hopefully), DD, Ross, JV and hope they develop in to something above the average (especially the last 2). Also PF spot seem quite solid for me: Amir, PP and TH seem to supplement each other well.
Greivis is good enough as a backup, also I think Miller would be better fit for JV, but not sure how much is left in Andres tank. Think Salmons (although very expensive) is a good backup both SF/SG position for next year.

What this team is missing most and will probably miss in the future, imo, is D oriented solid SF (Thabo could be a good option). I might sound crazy, but Travis Outlaw is player I have been following a bit: good size, arms, not so many offensive weapons, but excellent d and stuck in a bad organization with a good contract. thing is, we do not have anything to offer. Maybe they would bite Novak and 2nd rounder.

Other thing is a big veteran C with good defense, to back JV. Perhaps sign through FA this summer, but do not have anything in mind really.

But then hell, all those bad contracts and scrubs. Hope Masai can use them next year as expiring assets for something useful (maybe trading for that veteran center).

So to sum-up, I doubt raps will be able to sign a superstars through FA, do not think trade is a solution either, because tanking team will never trade a superstar with long contract, only expiring, but then what are your chances he resign? Good teams would never trade their core. The way to go is draft and grow your players, then perhaps you can attract some missing peaces to the winning team (David West to Indy), but that will never be something flashy. But with right peaces in the right system: Detroit won championships not having that much of talent. So, why not?

If Lowry agrees to re-signs in the offseason,

Hornets get: Lowry,2nd,Buycks
Raptors get: Walker,Biyombo

Longshot,no chance before 3p today but maybe it gets done in a sign and trade in the off season

Also, Novak for Biyombo...
