Attempt to trade Lowry for a 1st round pick. Then trade Vasqquez. Play Byucks 30 mins and Julian Stone 18 mins. For remaining 48 games, we go 10-38, for 27-55 overall record; good for bottom 5. Try to sign Lowry in offseason if he doesn't end up going to Lakers.

You think 27 wins puts us in the bottom 5?

Bottom 5 as of today:

Philadelphia .343
Sacramento .333
Utah .324
Orlando .286
Miluwakee .206

27 win season equals a winning percentage of .329, which would be on pace to be in the bottom 5.

Unlikely 27 wins gets us the 5th worst record by the end of the season imo. Close enough though, 6-7th?

27 wins for bottom 5 not such a far fetched estimation and entirely plausible. The teams currently out of the bottom 5 in the 6-8 range are probably going to end up winning a few more than 27. Boston will soon get rondo back, cavs added deng, the knicks look like they're turning it around and la is expecting nash and Kobe by the end of Jan. 27 wins: worst case, 6-7th could happen.

Is DoMo worth a look? I'm sure it's been brought up but I wouldn't mind a Daye/2nd for DoMo.

I wouldn't mind that either but Morey isn't an idiot. Also, I'd imagine that thus far MU would look at keeping PP.

Well, he'd be the 4th PF on the roster, he wouldn't get much of a look.

Why is that? It would be nice to have a pf/c outside JV that's taller than 6'9". Chuck at 6'6" is a nice energy guy but we have one already in TH. AJ/PP/TH are all 6'9" (In shoes no less) and TH has become somewhat expendable now imo with the energy and play you see from PP.

I would love to see DoMo here, if you watched him play pre Houston this wouldn't be a debate imo. I kinda like the idea of having a 4 big rotation of JV/DM/AJ/PP and I would keep TH for those times you need hustle to create a spark or if a big goes down.

I would also love Deng here, I really love his all around play and hopefully his injuries are relatively done.

KL/GV
DD/TR
LD/JS
AJ/PP
JV/DM

Nice thing is the 2' & 3's can switch for match ups and so can the 4's & 5's (with the exception of JV). TR would be the sixth man. That's a pretty versatile line imo.

Buycks/Stone/Hansbrough are unguaranteed next year (well TH has a 1Mil), Fields/Hayes are expiring and Novak has 2 years after this one. Pretty good position for more moves imo.

He needs minutes, and I don't think he's going to get that on the Raptors. It would be just like the Rockets. He'd just clog valuable cap space and waste a pick.

I don't think he improves this team. He doesn't bring adequate defense, toughness or rebounding. Post game, he's flashy but not consistent or effective right now. He can run and score in transition pretty well for a PF -- but that's just a bonus ability, it's like a point guard being able to rebound. I might as well use a 6'9 player who will also run in transition but also do something else at a high level, something more important.

I think it's more or less a fair offer btw, I suspect expiring+2nd is about the best that Houston could expect. Maybe there's a team that would give him a lot of opportunities to score, and then who knows, maybe he develops. Maybe he even becomes a good shooter at some point, he has some talent there. If not, he'll be back in Europe in a year. There's some unfulfilled potential, but there are lots of players with some unfulfilled potential, can't collect them all. I don't see a fit or need in this case.

As much as i like D-MO, i really think woodchuck is right.

And what we need isn't in the frontline.

we need a better 4th wing man, in case of injury and a vet 3rd pg.
to me a player like Jefferson, Carter or even a nick young as our 6th men.
i think a guy like buddinger is a low price right now, and he will be a solid addition on the wings. and is contract is pretty good for what he can do.

Wilson Chandler will fit here nicely. What would have to give up to get him?

I also think Masai will be looking more at trying to unload novak/fields

The team needs some more height in the front court and I do agree about the wing. Those players you named are a step back imo except for Chase though he's coming off his second knee surgery already at 25 so I'd pass until he can show he can stay somewhat healthy.

Personally I like Deng or Chandler (as mentioned above though I'm not too whooped with either's injury plagued past but knock on wood they're past that) and either plays defence well. Deng is my preference but Wilson is 2 years younger and certainly cheaper. Along with D-mo and his shooting ability for a 7' footer (yes yes we heard this before but D-mo is not AB) plus T-ross would make an incredible 6th man. He reminds me of Jet in his prime - just TR has or will have better D. And we already have a 3rd cheap pg and it's looking like it's going to be Buycks. I hope the team keeps Tyler as well - guys with that kind of heart and hustle and know their role tend to be few and far between (we always seem to miss players like Garbo and JYD).

Starters
Lowry/Derozan/Deng or Wilson/D-mo/Jonas

Bench
Vasquez/T-Ross/Salmons/Pat/Amir

The above line-up is way more appealing to me as a team than it would be to see any of the names you had mentioned - just a preference on my part not a slam. I guess the biggest difference in viewing the team is I see TR in a 6th man role.
