And there goes that trade idea. Jackson must stay.

Perkins + 1 or two firsts for KL and PsychoT. Keep in mind OKC's recent loss of RW. Just a thought.

If they would agree to give 2 first rounders than yes, otherwise that contract of Perkins is pretty ugly

Second one Derozan for Schroeder, Williams, 1st 2014

I already posted this trade before, but thought it would work well in combination with New York trade.

It seems that Horford is out for the season. So I suspect they will have to hold onto their pick now and delay any win-now trades.

Otherwise it'd be a very nice trade. I like Derozan for them.

Unless maybe they trade for Asik. That would still make sense long term. Tough decisions.

DeRozan and Fields for Deng and either Chicago's first rounder or Charlotte's. I doubt either would do it but:

Raps don't lose a step this season and TR finally plays SG. Raps get a decent pick. Raps shed a lot of salary in the meantime which can be used to reup Deng or can be used elsewhere.

Chicago gains an offensive option in DD. DD is also 4 years younger than Deng so that's a plus. LF while not that great is a serviceable defensive wing.

NBA Trade Machine - ESPN +2015 1st Memphis
protected for selections 1-5 and 15-30 in 2015, 1-5 and 15-30 in 2016, 1-5 in 2017 or 1-5 in 2018 or unprotected in 2019)

Maybe we could even ask for a better pick?

I think the Cavs won't take it, Lowry is nice but more of a luxury for them. And they give up their 2014 cap space by absorbing Perkins. Even without the pick, I don't think they would do it.

OKC should do it, they save so much money and Bynum is very interesting there as a player. I guess they'd be concerned about chemistry. They are one of the most chemistry-aware teams in the league. But overall it's probably too good to refuse for them.

Risky business, and would be done with Lowry being kept, but: something revolving around Salmons and maybe 2 2nd rounders or a future first or that NYK pick, for Thad. Young.

CHI get Bynum + Clark + TH + Waiters + 2nd rd tor
CLE get Boozer + Ross + Fields + Novak + 1st NYK 2016
TOR get Deng + Bennett

Chicago shed money, get a combo guard, and make place for gibson, with a solid 3rd big man with TH. they can waive Bynum (6M only guarantee on his current contract before the 6th January).
they

Cleveland add some depth in their frontcourt, and Ross will replace Waiters fine at sg.

TOR get an expiring solid defender SF and a young one, whom need playing time.

Lowry/Vasquez/Buycks
DD/Salmons/Stone
Deng/Bennett
AJ/Patterson/Daye
JV/Hayes

Lowry + Deng are expiring = 20.5M
Vasquez + Patterson are RFA = 5.6M
Salmons : only 1M guaranted next season = 6M
with the one year contracts, that's more than 34M off the books.

We will have only our first, DD, Bennett, AJ, JV and hayes on the payroll.

He's a Tad too Young!

I think I'd do it, I think it's a win in assets (even with the Denver/Knicks pick). But I don't think it's enough to bypass rebuilding, so more moves would be necessary.

I wonder though, if Thad Young is available for (probably) a non-lottery pick in 2016, why has no team offered that yet? Maybe the 76ers have set a very high price.

Cavs will be the first to say no, since they end up with no cap space and paying about 30 mil a year to basically Boozer and Ross.

The Raptors, I'm not sure they do it. At this point, would you trade Ross+NYK pick for Bennett? I wouldn't. Other than that, the Raptors also get an extra ~7 mil in cap space, which is nice, I just wouldn't give up assets to do it. The Raptors already have enough to target players they realistically can sign, like Stephenson or Deng.

So this ends up with Deng. Is he just a rental? Do the Raptors try to extend him? Would he be traded to another team for some pick or some other asset? What could they get in such trade? Depending on those answers, this could be a good trade for the Raptors or not at all.

It makes sense for the Bulls IMO, they get under tax, tank, and then restart next year with Mirotic, Waiters, 2014 rookie and some flexibility. However, their owner said "no major moves" so who knows.

differents ideas on this end of 2013 :

A :
PHX get Afflalo + Novak
ORL get Lowry + TH + 1st SAC 2014
Tor get Okafor + Moore + Nicholson + 1st Wash 2014

we get a huge expring, a young prospect PF and a first rd.

B :
ORL get Salmons + TH + 1st NYK 2016 + 1st tor 2014 (unprotected) + 2*2nd rd tor 2014
TOR get Afflalo + Nicholson

we stack young productive player. and can hope to go further in the playoffs.

C :
BKN get Gasol + Lowry + 2nd rd LAL 2017 + 2nd rd SAC 2014 (TOR)
LAL get Lopez + Novak + TH
TOR get Pierce + Sacre + Livingston

we will have more capspace. Sacre is a nice prospect center, whim we can bring to grow with JV. Livingston is a solid backup pg.

D:
Philly get Lowry + TH + 2nd rd Sac 2014
Toronto get Hawes + Wroten

we exchange an expirin, but complete a nice frontcourt, and wroten hasn't show all he can do, but he is a pretty good backup PG.

I like this one, even though it's massive and highly unlikely. I think Bennett will be good,he's just on the wrong team.

Made this trade based on Deng-Bynum rumor

NBA Trade Machine - ESPN
+ 2014 1st sac protected to Orlando (owned by Cle)
+ 2015 1st Memphis protected to Toronto (owned by Cle)

Cleveland becomes very good while trading less needed players and keeping their own picks.

Toronto gets pick for Lowry

Orl gets prospects and a pick

Chi gets capspace

Not bad, but I don't see much benefit for Chicago. They save 8.3 million this season if they waive Bynum before January 7th. However, they lose a pretty important player in the process.
