Houston gets: Patrick Patterson
Toronto gets: Motiejunas, Casspi, sweetener (a 2nd round pick or rights to one of their Eurostash projects)

For the Rockets, Patterson is a good fit and knows the system very well.
For the Raptors, it's mainly about that sweetener and getting something for Patterson. Motiejunas has some talent too and not a bad gamble.

I wouldn't mind keeping Patterson either. But as a stretch 4, he might end up getting a mini midlevel from some contending team, and I think the Raptors have bigger priorities for their cap space right now.

HOU get Novak + TH + Jackson
ORL get Perkins + Lowry + Sefalosha + 1st OKC 2014 + 1st DAL 2014 + 1st NYK 2016
Tor get Nelson + Nicholson + Beverley + Jones

OKC get a syarting sg and a real solid center to go further.

Houston get fair value for Asik and Beverley.

ORL do it for picks and continue their rebuild, also shed their two biggest contract.

WE get 3 young assets and nice vet backup pg.

GV/Beverley/Nelson
DD/Salmons/Stone
TR/Jones/Fields
AJ/AN/Patterson
JV/Hayes

+ our first and 2 second in this year draft.

Houston laughs hard and hangs up the phone. If you were Houston would you deal both Beverley and Asik for that? Please, answer honestly.

Reggie Jackson is pretty good. IMO one or two of those picks should go to Houston though.

Dude, Beverly and Asik, for Jackson, who I'll recognize is a decent get, but then Novak (and that poor contract) and TH????? Houston could do a lot better than that. Picks would help obviously.

Interesting. I think where this would fall apart is that you have Houston and OKC helping each other. It's one thing for them to make a major trade when Houston was rebuilding. But now those teams look like they'll be major rivals for many years. Morey and Presti are extremely bold GMs. But I'm not sure even they are this bold.

The Rockets are probably taking the bigger risk here. Asik will help Thunder a lot vs. Dwight. And Jackson can be out of control, like Lance Stephenson. Also, he's not a proven shooter yet, and they want a decent shooter at point guard. But he's also a great talent. He's been playing great lately, and that includes making 3s. He's an upgrade over Beverley, and if he can hit a 3 at a good rate, then he's a massive upgrade over Beverley with all star potential.

I suspect that Jackson is much better than any offer they got so far for Asik, and considering the problems they are having with Asik, I think they'd do this deal in a vacuum. They have plenty of point guards (Lin, Beverley, and Canaan is looking like a solid young prospect too), so they could afford to add Beverley. But this isn't a vacuum. This is a deal with the Thunder. I'm not sure they could stomach giving them Asik and taking a bit of a gamble on Jackson becoming a consistent shooter.

On the other hand, the Thunder is adding good pieces here. But they are a legitimate contender already. Jackson is good and might be the 6th man of the year. Steve Adams is a nice long term center. They are losing Sefolosha, two picks. And they are adding money. Not just "cap money", but Asik's salary is actually bigger than his cap hit. He's basically paid around 1 mil a month for the rest of his contract.

For a team that's already clicking, that's a big, costly shake-up in the middle of the season. And if Jackson works out for Houston, they are giving Houston a major piece. They are helping Houston get rid of a disgruntled player and potentially giving a major upgrade at point guard.

I like the deal. But the rivalry aspect. Ugh. Bill Simmons calls the NBA 'no balls association', well, he won't be able to do that anymore if this deal happens.

You are right. it's tricky for the asik part between HOuston and OKC.
i think we can put in there some 2nd rd pick.

But for houston, Asik is the only piece they could afford to lose right now, because he don't play much.

that's funny, because i tough the probleme everyone would put out there is orlando.

and also i'm sorry if i pierce our bubble, but OKC isn't a real contender as of now. yes they are pretty good. but they don't have what they need to beat Miami or even Indiana. and i suspect they would have a hard time to beat SAS in a western Finals.
and they know it.

You're not even remotely close to getting Houston to say yes. You're just doing your usual nonsense of throwing names in to giant trades that make no sense.

Toronto makes out like bandits and WAY ahead in that deal.

I think OKC and the Spurs are the toughest matchups for Indiana, especially OKC. OKC would not be my bet to win the title because the West playoff road is so much tougher, so it's a good idea to choose two East teams, because there are only two teams in the East. But I think OKC is slightly better than other NBA teams right now.

As for Orlando, if it was just 3 picks for Afflalo, Nicholson, Nelson, I'd think it's not enough. But they could probably turn around, offer Lowry/Sefolosha to New York and add another pick or even a pick+Shumpert. So they are getting quite a lot.
I think it would look more realistic if Nicholson was out of this deal. Take Nicholson out, take one of the picks out.
But you seem to be a big fan of Nicholson and all your trades are about getting Nicholson, so fair enough.

I think OKC is the most likely to say no to this deal. They add salary, and that's a problem for them. They trade 3 long term rotation players and two picks. They get a center who's having knee issues right now and who already had a torn ACL several years ago, and they get a guard who had health problems last year. They add inside defense, but they lose a lot of perimeter defense and upside. And they help a major rival. I think the negatives/risks are just big enough for them to say no.

As for Houston, they have to trade Asik. I don't think anyone is going to give them stars in return or high lottery picks. Asik isn't cheap going forward, health is a bit of a concern, and there may be other centers on the market. Spencer Hawes is playing very well and he's probably available, Larry Sanders might be available, Varejao might be available, even Greg Monroe might be available. I think Reggie Jackson is a great return.
As for Beverley, he's ok, he plays good defense, he even plays great defense occasionally, he can hit 3s at a passable rate, he's on a very nice contract. But there's not much else, he's not as good as a typical NBA starting point guard. For instance, if you offered Beverley to Miami for Mario Chalmers, I think Miami would say no. And Houston has Lin, Brooks, Canaan, and in this case Jackson. So I don't think Beverley would be a deal breaker.
The deal breaker for Houston - if there is one - would probably be the fact that they are potentially helping OKC.

I don't see you posting many trades, but yet you find it necessary to say how crappy Bankiz trades are.
Creating a trade is not that easy. I'm sure Bankiz wouldn't mind constructive criticism, observation or suggestion on how to make it better. But throwing him under the bus for posting trades is kinda douchey.

Bankiz, you have interesting ideas as always but you have to be more objective and less bias/subjective. If you were those other GMs - would you accept those proposed deals? That is pretty much it.
