2 very good points!

actually one that should happen:

(to be done in 2 separate trades because of restrictions)

Minny trades:
Sessions, Hollins, Webster

gets:
Beli, West, Miami pick, Evans

Minny gets West's contract which is basically a salary dump, and adds a shooter on the wing who is also an expiring. Adds an additional pick

Cleveland trades:
West

Gets:
Sessions

Cleveland gets a pg they reportedly have interest in.

Toronto trades:
Beli, Evans, Miami pick

gets:
Hollins, Webster

Toronto adds a Sf who can shoot the ball and defend somewhat vet center who can provide a bit of depth at the center spot off the bench.

Jack/Jose/Banks
Demar/Barbosa/Weems
Webster/Kleiza/Weems
Amir/Davis/Dorsey
Bargs/Hollins/Alabi

Ok, since BC is going to inquire about Paul anyway, and since NO would want to move Okafor and rebuild, how about Jose plus TPE for Okafor and Paul? We could add picks and expiring contracts to make things work.

I can't see why NO would want to take on Calderon's contract in return. My guess is whom ever gets Paul will be giving NO immediate cap relief.

On another note...did anyone see JR at summer league?? he mentioned how he was at the Raps game to support his "brothers" DD and Weems. I realize he has issues, but I think he would be good here with those two.

Anyway, wonky trade idea.....somehow turning Barbosa into JR Smith.

Okafor and Paul are 26.5 million
Jose is 9million, Beli 2.4m , Evans 5.1m 10 TPE and Toronto 1st 2011

Not great for NO but get Okafors contract off the books really only taking on Joses contract others expiring. But really NY, Orlando can't offer a better deal.

Second Trade JJ 4.9 and Banks 4.7 TPE to Detroit for Prince 11.2

PG....Paul, Borassa, Brown
SG....Weems, DD, Borassa
SF....Prince, Kleiza, Weems
C.....Okafor, Bargs, Dorsey, Alabi
PF....Bargs, Amir, Davis, Dorsey

That team would challenge in top 4 in the east assuming Miami is #1 think they can compete will with Orlando, Boston and Atlanta

If team trades somehow for Paul it would be imperative that they somehow made alot of capspace for next offseason to go after Melo.

here ya go.

Philly out:
Iggy, Kapono, Smith

in
Weems, Jack, Evans, Banks, Phoenix TPE

Philly moves the redundant Iggy to make room for a Turner and YOung wing combo and picks up a playmaking pg, a young winger with some potential in Weems, Expiring deal in Evans and Banks. Saves almost 7 million instantly

Phoenix trades:
Nash

gets:
TPE, Toronto first 2011, Miami first 2011.

Phoenix sheds more salary and allows Nash to move home to end his career.

Nash/Jose/Beli
Demar/Barbosa/Beli
Iggy/Kleiza/Kapono
Amir/Davis/Dorsey
Bargs/Alabi/Smith

Team probably wouoldnt beat Miami or Orlando in a 7 game series, but it would be some lot of fun to watch Nash hooking up Demar, Iggy and Amir on the lob and Andrea as the trailer.

While I love Nash you are grossly overpaying for him.
The reality Nash does have a couple more great years in the tank and maybe a couple most point guards would consider good years.
But way too much.

Nash will go to a contending team..

He'll never come here before he wins a Ring...unless were contenders ... which wont happen until he's a really old man...

However, once he does win atleast 1 ring i can see him finishing his career in toronto.

Not at all aluding that they are a go too guys.
But Okafor will give you 13ppg and 10rpg
Prince will give you 14ppg and 5 rpg
Good defense for both

They fit what Raptors need more if they got Paul

Surprising to see Nash in the conversation with all the talk about Jose's lack of defense. We already have a good team.

Jose/Jack/Brown
DD/Barbie
Kleiza/Weems
Amir/Ed/Evans
Bargnani/Alobi

I woudn't've let Turk go.

I tell you Jose can be a go to guy, I hope Linas as well.
The team will flourish now they all don't have to work to fill Bosh's stats.

First off, that is not overpaying for Nash at all. Nash makes every person on his team better just by being on the floor. He is a 2 time MVP, should have been a 3 time) and he keeps playing at a high level.

Secondly, Nash wouldnt really have a say where he went in a deal. He isnt going to win a championship in Phoenix any time soon and there are only a few teams in the NBA that could offer a decent package for and make great use of his services in an attempt to win one.

Orlando-but a package going out from orlando would not be as good as a direct TPE and picks IMO

Charlotte-Ditto and I still dont think they could win it all with Nash

Portland, have some nice youth and expirings, but it would deplete alot of their team in making the deal and I dont think Phoenix, if they trade Nash, would want him in the same conference.

Morning coffee, Smoke and fantasy trade:

Indy trades:
Dunleavy, Ford

gets:
Jose, 7.5 million TPE

Indy sheds about 10 million in salary instantly and gains a nice TPE. Jose will bring the efficiency that team sorely needs offense.

Philly trades:
Iggy, Kapono

gets:
Evans, Ford, 2011 pick Miami, Weems, 7.5 million TPE

Philly sheds about 10 million in salary instantly as well as gains 14 million in expirings. Weems is a solid young propect who can provide some depth off the bench for them. Ford can man the point spot until Jrue develops a little further. Miami pick is late but it is another pick none the less.

Toronto trades:
Jose, Evans, Weems, 15 million in TPE's, Miami's 2011 pick

gets:
Iggy, Kapono, Dunleavy.

Toronto adds an athletic freak at the sf spot improving wing defense immediately. Dunleavy provides outside shooting off the bench, Foster some depth up front and both add some more expirings for the offseason. Move will leave team about 16 million under the cap in 2011 offseason if Beli and Dorsey are both offered their Qualifying offers and Barbosa opts in, more than enough to either trade for a center/pg at the dealine or go after a center in the offseason if Amir doesnt cut it as the starting pf(Noah, Horford, Yao, Chandler all free agents this upcoming season) and draft a pg with what is sure to be a lotto pick(Irving, Walker, Knight)

Jack/Beli/Banks
Demar/Barbosa
Iggy/Kleiza/Dunleavy
Amir/Davis/Dorsey
Bargs/Foster/Alabi
