On Paul - what did we get for Carter? What, exactly, has any team whose franchise player demanded a trade mid-contract ever gotten back?
The Hornets are against the wall here and Paul is the one holding all the cards, as we have found out with Vince. Unless Hornets' next GM (and good luck finding the next Babcock willing to take on that sinking ship now) has the cajones to tell Paul "shut up and play or we will suspend you without pay", they will have to take whatever the best package is among the teams CP would like to play for. Toronto is not one of those teams and unless BC somehow hypnotizes Paul into adding the Raps to that list, nothing will ever transpire there. |

The difference between Paul and Vince is that Paul hasn't decreased his value by playing half-assed. I think you'll see Otis Smith try to put together an offer that trumps New York's.

Do you really think Vince has decreased his value back then? He has decreased our ability to get a better package for him, but not because of his half-assed attitude, but because of his public trade demands, same thing that Paul is doing, IMO.

don't you think BC can snap a trade with one of the team who can have Paul.
Give them TPE and some cheap player (not weems please) and recover a good 3 maybe like batum at portland. |

Look at Vince's stats when he left Toronto. I think he was averaging something like 14-15 ppg, which is far below his career average. It's not like Vince was the best at his position at the time. Paul never dogged it on the court. He never lowered his value that way. When you think about it, he requested a trade to certain teams. So right then and there, you'd know that he would like to stay long term with that particular team. You know that he would almost certainly re-up with that team. Therefore, you wouldn't be getting Paul for 2 years, you'd be getting him for much longer. So in turn, teams are going to be in competition for him and would try to outdo each other with the attempts of putting forth a better offer.

Would the asking price be too high? With Rubio possibly joining the Wolves in the next couple seasons, the Wolves will have an abundance of PG's (Sessions, Ridnour) why doesn't Colangelo take a stab at Flynn?

on the second, I said if Paul thought Toronto would be a cool place to play, and I implied him staying past 2 years. |
