Maybe OKC would want Gay for Perkins and stuff.... they might have to use a TPE to add salary, but maybe we could get either Lamb or PJ3 in return...

Doubt it, almost all their moves are made with saving money in mind, doubt they take a huge contract like Gay.

agreed, though they may look at it as a chance to load up to get KD a ring.... Perkins is kind of falling even more out of favour there with Stevens getting PT now....

Adding Gay could certainly help against a Miami team....

I've got two ideas.

1) Luol Deng for Rudy Gay.

Two players that are both expirings. Gay gives Chicago another perimeter scoring option. The Bulls would need to know that Gay will opt out and sign for less, the Raptors would need to know that Deng will resign.

2) Terrence Ross for Trey Burke

Two young players stuck in support roles, T. Ross behind DD and Trey behind Alec Burks. T. Ross starts for a young Utah team, and Trey Burke takes over as a starter after Kyle Lowry is allowed to walk / is traded. The trade could also work as T. Ross for Alec Burks, but I think Alec is the one Utah wants to keep.

Trey isn't stuck in a support role, he'll be the starting PG while A. Burks plays SG. Also, I don't think you can negotiate Rudy to agree to opt out and sign for less....

It would be through Gay's agent what his intentions are with regards to his player option, and it's the sticking point in any Rudy Gay trade. If his agent won't talk about it to a potential trade partner, then Rudy is completely untradeable.

I think you're right about Utah, though. Maybe Dennis Schroeder for Terrence Ross would make more sense, but Atlanta would be stuck for a back up PG. Lowry and Ross for Schroeder and Lou Williams? Use Augustine as a stopgap.

Ross for Schroeder and a 2nd pick is simpler, and might work well enough for both teams. Atlanta could get by without a good back up PG. But we would have 5 PGs on the roster after the trade, and no scoring off the bench, unless Buycks steps it up.

Deng for RG. I don't think Chicago wants to get worse.

Nash for Lowry and Novak

or

Pau and Nash for Lowry, Rudy and Amir.

Deng's OK, but not appreciably better than Gay. Just different.

Also, Gay's never played next to a perimeter scorer like Rose, he could really do some damage as a second option.

espn trade machine

Celtics : Lowry + Gordon + Gray + 1st toronto 2014 (unprotected)
Pelican : Gay + Novak + Bass
Raptors : Rondo + Anderson + Wallace + Olynyk

Pelicans gain a solid SF, whay they miss and bass will be a nice backup PF.
Novak give them more 3pt coming of the bench.

Celtics get solid value for Rondo.

we give up some expirings and our 1st, but for rondo and Ryan Anderson our team vbecome more competitive. maybe, we will have to give nyk 1st 2016.
with wallace at SF, we can open PT for ross and develop him more.
as well we could put Aj as backup Center and find PT for Olynyk. but with TH and AJ he will learn to fight under the paint.

Leave Olynyk out of this and you have a fair deal for all sides, I would do it even though our spacing would be brutal

i tough our spacing would be better.
Anderson is a stretch 4 and wallace has bcomed a 3pt more than anything else.
the defense of rondo would be good for us at pg, but Anderson will make us lose some defense on frontcourt.

4 Team trade:
NBA Trade Machine - ESPN

Boston:
Lowry, Novak 1st 2016 NY(via TOR), 2nd 2014 SAC (via TOR), 2nd 2014 OKC (via TOR)

Toronto:
Deng, Rondo, L. Williams, Schroder, rights to Mirotic(via CHI)

Chicago:
Gay

Atlanta:
Derozan

Boston gets picks without hurting the tank, and good value tradable player(if they don't want to keep him) in Lowry plus Shooter in Novak.

Our starting 5 is still good and more balanced plus we get promising prospects in Schroder and Mirotic.

Chicago gets better scoring option in Rudy Gay

Atlanta gets good starting shooting guard

Rondo, Schroder, DJ, Buyks
Ross, L. Williams, Stone
Deng, Fields, Daye
Amir, TH, (Mirotic), Acy
JV, Gray

If we trade for Shroder, I think we shouldn't be after Rondo.

Why not? If Shroeder becomes better than Rondo, trade Rondo. Nothing wrong with having more than one asset at a position.......

Why not? Rondo is injured and could stay that way for a while. If we were to tank this season, MU would make sure that Rondo is extra healthy and not rushing back to the court.
Schroder would get plenty of playing time, and would learn a lot from Rondo. I don't see any problems with them having similar games.
