Yea, I wouldn't if I was Cleveland.
Rudy isn't better than bynum. Thompson is better then both acy and hansbrough and bennett is no.1 pick overall, better then a 6-8th seeder 1st round pick. They'd be worse off in every way.
And we'd have no SF, I mean bennett isn't REALLY a sf- he's an undersized 4, no draft pick in one of the best draft in ages, And we'd have a huge jam at PF and C position. I mean we'd arguably have the best PF and C rotation in the league but it'd just be full of unhappy people wanting minutes. We'd prolly need to get rid of a lot of them, we'd have bynum, JV, Amir, Thompson, and Benett. Plus if you try to get Benett to be a 3, we'd have terrible spacing with a coach who doesn't know much about offense.
Dumb trade for both teams.

I could see:

Bennett, Varajao, Jack

For

Gay, TH, Augustine

Their starting 5:
Irving
Waiters
Gay
Thompson
Bynum

PG: Lowry- Jack- Buycks
SG: Derozan- Ross- Jack
SF: Bennett- Fields- Novak- Daye
PF: Varajao- Amir- Bennett- Acy
C: Valanciunas- Varajao- Gray

AV has a TO for 10mil next season, Jack can be our starter next season if we deal Lowry. If we re-sign Lowry Jack can either be flipped down the road or we can use him like GS did last season.

No way they would that, I could see them trading Thompson, but not Bennett.

I don't know if salaries would work, but yea that seems like a fair trade for both sides. We could probably get a second round pick too

They can't trade Bynum right now, they have to wait a couple months. Two months from now Bynum could be much more valuable than Gay, or he can be an injured player with no value other than as an expiring, or somewhere in between.

It's similar with Varejao. He was better than Gay last year. So if he's healthy, they aren't using him as a throw-in, they will get good value for him. Unlike Bynum, Varejao's health issues aren't chronic, he's just incredibly unlucky. So I suspect some team would take a risk and make a good offer -- as long as Varejao stays healthy and plays well in the first half of the year. Besides, given Bynum's knees, not sure they want to trade Varejao at all.

One way or the other, we have to wait a few months before we start thinking of Bynum or Varejao as throw-ins in a trade.

I like that Thompson+Jack trade idea. I think they have more than enough scorers and could really use a pure 3D player, though, so I'm not sure if they like Gay. I suspect they'd definitely ask Toronto to give more, but it could be a good starting point.

I'm one of the people on this board that actually wants to resign Rudy, but I really like the potential of a deal like Thompson + Jack + Filler for Rudy + Hansbrough + NYK 1st.

We get a great 6th man and backup point guard, while also grabbing our power forward of the future in Tristan. It has the potential to make us better now, as well as down the road.

I think the success of this deal depends most heavily on whether or not Demar can excell at the 3 spot, because if he can, him and T-Ross have games that compliment eachother very nicely.

Lowry (30mpg)/Jack(18mpg)
Ross (30mpg)/Jack(10mpg)/Fields(8mpg)
Demar (36mpg)/Fields(12mpg)
Thompson(30mpg)/Amir(12mpg)/Novak(6mpg)
Valanciunas(30mpg)/Amir(18mpg)

Here is a real thinker and debate.

Milwaukee trades Ilyasova, Larry Sanders, Antetokounmpo and Ridnour. Toronto trades Gay,JV, and Ross and Acy.

I don't understand why we do that. The value is good for us but the roster after that deal lacks direction. Its a lateral move. If the goal is to compete for playoffs we have a big gap at SF since Ilyasova is can not guard SFs and Giannis reportedly isn't even a part of Milwaukee's rotation (according to their coach). If the goal is to tank, that team is too good to tank and it makes 0 sense to deal JV, our best young player, if we tank. Bucks don't do it either since they view Sanders more highly than we do JV and want to keep him at all costs.

Lowry/DD/Fields?/Ilyasova/Sanders is still not a playoff team and it will be competing for 9th or 10th. Only real difference is Sanders' and Ilyasova's contracts last longer than Rudy's which goes against our "two year window"

If after 20 games we're crap I could see a deal like Butler, Ridnour, Giannis for Rudy and DJ

I'm guessing Rudy goes to the Jazz for Kanter. If Lowry also looks not to be extending, it will likely end up being a three-team deal.

Why would we trade for kanter when we have jv?

It's redundant but it's a good move assets wise. The question is why would Utah trade for Gay. They don't seem to be in a 'win now' mode, and if this is merely a long term move then they could as well sign Gay this summer as a free agent and keep Kanter. A trade like that would be pretty terrible for Utah.

imo teams that would really want to trade for Gay are:
bucks, bobcats, wolves, cavs. Obviosly there are other teams but those 4 could really use player like Rudy

I think Detroit may still be interested, depending how the season begins for them. Maybe Monroe becomes expendable for them.... it seems as if most of the hype is on Drummond and Josh Smith there now.

Detroit has very little that I would want here tbh.

you wouldn't want Monroe and a dumping of some salary with Gay and Lowry?

I like Monroe but we'd need more then that and there is nothing else on that roster i'd want that they'd be willing to give.
