I don't see how there is merit in this deal whatsoever. And we'd be stuck with JL3 as our main backup PG. Awful move, unless you think Derozan will regress and Lowry is all of a sudden a mediocre player after the injury and will reman so. We'd have far more question marks after this deal then we do now. Also you give up Davis and you weaken our PF rotation, not to mention our strongest position right now at PG which would be fuck yet again.

For that package the most I'd give up would be Bargnani, Kleiza, 2nd.

Lowry/Calderon/JL3
Evans/Ross/Fields/AA
Derozan/George/Pietrus
Davis/Amir/Acy
Valanciunas/Amir/Gray

Or- Bargs/Derozan for Evans/George

Lowry
Evans
George
Davis
Valanciunas
You really think George would back up DeMar? As I said, you could replace DD with Ross in the trade if you don't think it would cause a starting SG controversy. Best case scenario DeMar and Tyreke practice their asses off to be better than each other and we end up with two of the best SGs in the league (in my dreams), worst case scenario, somebody walks out of practice with a black eye, and Tyreke walks this summer. I suppose you could roll with Evans/DeMar/George as the 1-3 leaving Jose as the main backup PG, Anderson as our main backup SG, Pietrus as the main backup SF (lol fields) and a big rotation of Bargs/Val/Amir/Kleiza/Gray, sure the big rotation is a bit weaker but you constantly hear people complaining of the "logjam" and this solves it while vastly improving

I'd love to keep Lowry but he only reason Indiana does the trade is to get their "PGOTF". Lowry has had injury trouble quite often since he's become an all-star caliber PG as well.

And what makes you think George is regressing? Just because he's going through a bit of a funk? You can't say that George is regressing because of recent struggles and then ignore Tyreke's
recent success.

And IMHO, Bargs has negative value in a trade, he's got a bad reputation around the league with his lack of rebounding, defense and effort in general. I don't think anybody wants a 7' tall SG locked up into $10M+ per year over the next 3-4 years.

Bargnani has positive value... don't buy into the toronto negativity

So let me get this straight, George a player struggling in his second season would start ahead of Demar, and Ross could replace Demar in one scenario......a player struggling to get minutes on a shit team? Nice

@Carp Alright I was exagerrating a bit there, but I don't think the Pacers would want him. Sacramento may be enticed by the possibility of a Bargs/Cousins front court, but if they are they're taking quite a bit of salary there and may have to dump an expiring on us or send us or Indy somebody like Salmons or Garcia.

George would definitely start over DeMar at SF, the guy is like 6'10 and would be playing at his natural position vs DeMar who would be getting manhandled by the bigger SFs. At SG it comes down to preference of outside shooting and a nice mismatch vs slashing and post-ups. And let's not forget defence...DeMar has great work ethic and is a wonderful athlete but he's got a lot of work to do defensively, George with his tall stature and great quickness would shut down many of the smaller SGs in the league. Honestly I'd prefer both but you take what you can get when you need a SF as badly as we do.

Ross could replace DeMar in the trade because I think Indiana is still getting a lot in that trade with Lowry and Ross who has shown promise.

Ross is more valuable to this team than DD in my opinion. He's likely to be as good and is so much cheaper. We do need a SF with big upside and George can actually play both wing spots to boot. I suppose Demar can as well but George is simply more physically up to the task. Ross is going to be good, let's not give him away.

If you're Portland's GM do you make this deal?

No, it's not even close... but so much is made about Ed and Demar on here, just thought it's a necessary reality check.

Hope this was a joke.

Aldridge is top 5 PF in the league and Batum is growing to all-star level SF.

Unless we screw up again and get #1 pick this year, Portland will never be interested in any of our current assets.

Andrea would have to start playing like the lovechild of Dirk Nowitzki and Patrick Ewing for that to be plausible.
