The bottom dropped out for Paul George on Saturday, as he went scoreless on 0-of-7 shooting vs. Golden State.
George had five boards and four dimes in 29 minutes, but he contributed zero steals or blocks to balance out his line. He's coming off a four-point dud against the Kings, so these aren't elite defenses shutting him down, and the Pacers need to find him easier looks to raise his ugly 38.5 percent shooting. Now is the time to barrage his owners with discounted trade offers.

Ed Davis and Cash for Paul George!

That's a bit of a steep asking price...with stats like those we should be able to unload a bad contract...say Bargs for George + their first rounder?

But seriously, would you guys do this deal?

After Jan 15
Toronto
Out: Lowry, Ed Davis, DeMar Derozan
In: Paul George, Tyreke Evans

Indiana
Out:Paul George,D.J. Augustin
In: Lowry, DeRozan

Sacramento
Out: Tyreke Evans
In: Ed Davis, D.J. Augustin

As much as I hate to see Lowry go, this would set us up on the wings for years, George is a great 3 point shooter and would space the floor for Tyreke and his drives. Don't know if Sac would accept so maybe somebody can think of a way to sweeten it up for them?

Jose/Lucas
Evans/Ross
George/Pietrus/Fields
Bargs()/Amir
Val/Gray

Imo a playoff team for years to come, great rotation at the 2 and 3, could use some more PG depth but hey, maybe we sign a decent-good PG after Jose expires.

EDIT: maybe the sweetener could be Bargs?

You could replace DeRozan w/ Ross and imo the value is still there, but there could be some conflict between DD and Evans. I understand Tyreke has got some problems, but that wing pairing is like a match made in heaven. And if Ross develops well we could decide to slide Evans to PG (maybe this could work with DD too?) and we're looking at a starting line up of Evans/Ross/George/Bargs?/Val

4/5 guys are young and show promise, we're looking at OKC lite with a low post prescence imo.

We don't know yet if Ross will be a consistent player, Tyreke has been a huge disapointment and so far George is inconsistent.

I feel like George is probably the most likely of the names thrown around here, when you figure in availability and what BC would need to give up.

I'd be 100% content with George. Young guy with lots of promise.

In my opinion Tyreke really needs a scenery change. Sacramento has been terrible to him, they're clogged at guards and have been playing him at SF. While I'll agree he's been disappointing, he's been playing well recently averaging 20 Pts/5 Reb/5 Ast on 54% shooting in his last 6 games.

i doubt indy entertain trade offers for george, they love the kid and really believe he has star potential, though i don't agree. he might have a few bad games but he also had a 37 points outburst a couple weeks ago and made nine 3's that game. they aren't giving up on him just yet.

There is merit to this deal.... the parts are somewhat fair and fit too.

LKZ, a second rounder, and maybe Pietrus or AA (when they're available) for Prince. (works on nba trade machine)

Obviously it would have to be financially motivated by Detroit. Prince makes 6.76 million this season, 7.235 million next seasonand 7.707 million the season after that. LKZ makes 4.6 million this season and has a 4.6 million PO for next season.

A foursome of DD, Fields, Ross and Prince isn't horrible. Prince would bring that veteran leadership that's been lacking on this team, knows how to win and would contribute as well.

Keep MP and pack LF into that and I'm so on board.

I'd do the trade if we can swap Bargnani for Lowry and would try to keep Davis though. Amnesty Amir in the offseason, and sign Paul Millsap as a free agent.

Lowry/Calderon
Evans/Ross
George/MP - TRY TO UNLOAD FIELDS
Millsap/Davis
Valanciunas/Gray (get rid of Gray and a pick for Haywood)

Although that'd be nice the appeal to the deal I proposed (LKZ, a 2nd rounder) for the pistons is financial relief.

Lowry (borderline all-star the last 2 season, and prior to injury)
Davis (has shown growth every NBA season so far)
Derozan (much improved this season)

For

George (a prospect that seems to be regressing)
Evans (a tweener who has trouble shooting and doesn't fit on a shit team as it is)

I don't see how there is merit in this deal whatsoever. And we'd be stuck with JL3 as our main backup PG. Awful move, unless you think Derozan will regress and Lowry is all of a sudden a mediocre player after the injury and will reman so. We'd have far more question marks after this deal then we do now. Also you give up Davis and you weaken our PF rotation, not to mention our strongest position right now at PG which would be fuck yet again.

For that package the most I'd give up would be Bargnani, Kleiza, 2nd.

Lowry/Calderon/JL3
Evans/Ross/Fields/AA
Derozan/George/Pietrus
Davis/Amir/Acy
Valanciunas/Amir/Gray

Or- Bargs/Derozan for Evans/George

Lowry
Evans
George
Davis
Valanciunas

Dude, you're crazy. you're falling in love with your own guys. Yeah, I'm not saying I do it, and DD has really grown, but I'm not sold Lowry is going to hold up physically and Ed is a third big at best... he's too small to start. Tyreke has as much upside as DD, George has the most upside of all of them and everybody was raving about him this offseason..... so now that he's struggling four games or so after having a few huge games you're questioning it?

I'm not saying you do it, but it's not without merit.

Omri Casspi for Ed Davis.

I'm just more sold on our guys then the two we'd be getting. I would probably consider Bargs/Derozan for Evans/George since it doesn't weaken us at other positions.

That makes sense cause we differ on AB's value, and possibly Lowry's. But it's probably a little too much, and would depend on Tyreke's health too.
