What about Kenyon Martin?

He said that he wants return to NBA. To any team and at any price.

I would sign him for the veteran minimum and one year.

He has 34, but he can help in the rebounding, intimidation, presence in the paint... He can help from the bench.

Dallas probably wants to clear enough cap space to go after both Paul and Howard in 2013 and therefore, I would offer: Jose Calderon's expiring for Marion, Crowder, and a pick. I think Houston set the price fairly high when NY wanted to clear capspace for 2010.

Secondly, I would have went after Brendan Haywood as an amnesty candidate. It only costs the Bobcats 2 million per yr for the next 3 years and he's already putting up double double numbers.
I would offer Gray and a second round pick for Haywood, but it's unlikely to happen given the contribution he's making to the team. We couldn't trade him until after the December deadline. A lot of teams are using the strength of their bigs to go after Val right from the start. Haywood would be good guy to bring off the bench in those situations.

I would also offer something along the lines of Calderon, Ross, Davis, pick for Deng, Gay, or Iggy. I would prefer Deng though. Chad Ford reported a Calderon, 8 for Deng and 27th or something in the summer, but that was before the Bulls got Robinson, Hinrich, Teague and Bulls may not be happy with Ross at 8 now. Deng's defence would be ideal for Casey's system. I would also try to see if Lakers would be willing to trade Gasol for Bargs and other pieces. Bargs shooting (although it's not great at the moment), would be good for the princeton offence. The trade is unlikely to happen though.

Wizards out - Nené,Ariza

At a glance and on paper it looks like Toronto easily wins this trade. Aside from the fact that the Raptors are giving up the most value, every team benefits from this trade. Washington would probably be the team most reluctant to pull the trigger but Bargnani is cheaper than Nene while being equally talented and Johnson's contract expires after next season. Trading ariza would also open up the starting SF spot for Vesley who'll inevitably get the job. I tried it on ESPN's trade machine to see if it would be financially approved and it was accepted, with analysis.

1992 for the win

What if we trade Bargs for a pick to a shitty team, 10 mil off our books. Jose expires and we resign him at 5 or so mil. that frees up 15mil we sign Smith and have a high draft pick, Amnesty Amir/LK resign Lowry and our future looks bright
haha thanks guys, but ye pretty much all that for Gay and a filler to make salary work. I think Amir, ED and JV can be our future front court. Especially with scoring from the 1,2 and 3 spot

I think so,but my opinion doesn't mean shit.

Gay is good and the type of player the Raptors need but Memphis would be fine without him. They've proven they can compete without Rudy when they were one game of advancing to the West Finals, all while Gay was hurt. Adding Calderon,a big man friendly PG(to compliment Z-Bo & MG) will enhance the Grizz second unit over Bayless(as we seen in TO) plus his contracts comes off the books at year's end. Ross is a talented young prospect who'd thrive in a system where less is required from him other than to hit the 3's. Ariza is a good defender who has championship experience. Maybe a pick could be added but I believe not much more is needed for a player who's making $16 million for the season but not an all-star(on that team).

BC has a history of overpaying for free agents, but at the same time he's good at dumping bad contracts (Turk). Get RID OF LANDRY FOR ANY EXPIRINGor package him in a deal for another player. Anderson is playing better. Kleiza at least he can shoot the ball and i'd like to see T.Ross get some more mins. Try to talk to Babby again.

alright here is another one, dont know about it but whatever.

Toronto trades ross, bargs, jose to memphis for Rudy gay

Memphis gives up rudy gay to us and ellington to denver

Denver trades wilson chandler to the Raptors for LK and Ed davis

So raps get Gay and Chandler

Memphis gets ross, jose and Bargs maybe a second rounder

Nuggets get Ed and LK

We then need to trade fields or something and get a PF of some sort.

Lowry/JL3
Demar/Chandler
Gay/Chandler/Fields/AA
Amir/Need to pick up someone
JV/Gray

This is what I would try to do:

Trade Bargnani, Ross, Amir (Davis as replacement if wanted), Kleiza, 1st round pick for Gasol.

Lakers would have to continue to struggle into the middle of the season to do this trade and Bargs would have to start scoring. This would give Lakers some good shooting for the Princeton offence. On the other hand, it would give us some rebounding and defense which we sorely lacked with Bargs. Pick and roll Lowry and Gasol. After the Gasol trade, we don't really have any other pieces to offer for Deng or the other wing players mentioned in rumours, so I would try to look for a good SF who gives us defense, won't cost much, and has less than two years left on his contract: Shawn Marion. This would give Dallas enough cap space to go after Paul and Howard in 2013.

Trade: Calderon (expiring), D Mcguire for Shawn Marion, Jae Crowder, J. Cunningham or pick. If we can't get Cunnigham, take pick and look to trade it for a guard with good shooting abilities.

If Valancunas or Gasol get injured I seriously wouldn't be comfortable with Gray. I would want someone with experience. I would offer Gray straight for Haywood. If that didn't work out, Gray with pick for Haywood.

I would try to sign Kenyon Martin (he indicated he would play anywhere for the min) or Chris Anderson for vet minimum. A third string point guard for vet min: Livingston, Fisher, or Flynn.

Try my best to dump Fields anywhere for an expiring.

Lowry/Lucas/Fisher
DeRozan/Fields/Cunnigham or 3 point specialist.
Marion/Crowder/Anderson
Gasol/Davis/K. Martin/Acy
Valanciunas/Haywood

After the 2013 season, we have at least a combined 35 million dollars coming off the books

Memphis isn't trading Rudy Gay unless their current team completely falls flat which won't happen or if there is an offer too good to turn down, which also won't happen
any every one of the proposals includes jose to memphis which benefits them in no way, they have conley and bayless, what does a 3rd PG give him that is better than keeping rudy gay

I wouldn't argue that this would "gut" our team. Kleiza and Amir probably don't even have much value; if any at all, given their contracts. T.Ross is a good young prospect but by no stretch does he have the potential to be a franchise type player. Bargnani is a good player, who is a 20 point scorer, but limited defensively and can't rebound. I know Bargnani will bounce back from his scoring woes, but when he can't score he's a liability on the floor. David West torched us for 25 points. Let's be real, Lowry and Val are the future of this team. Lowry has the tools to be that franchise type player. This trade will enable us to keep our core intact - Lowry, Val, and DeRozan- and give us some cap room in 2014 after signing Lowry. I would love to make Lowry play alongside Gasol, who could defend, rebound, score - not to mention has won multiple championships.

Expiring contracts can be of value to teams like MEM with tight budgets.

Correct if i'm wrong but aren't they destined to be a tax team in the next couple years if they keep the the current group together?
