Sadly you're right. But they are so fun to watch right now.... it's like Phoenix Suns circa Nash/Stat/Matrix/Barbosa all over again.

& dont forget Joe Johnson?

That team was stacked with & without Joe Johnson...
If Casey were the coach maybe they would have had a ring already?

Scary thing is Colangelo is crazy enough to try an attempt it.

I think the package is very legit from Phillys POV. They deal Iggy and the 15th to get Derozan, Davis and the 25th. Stay cheap, still get solid talent and another 1st rounder.

The real question becomes what does Memphis need to make this happen. Calderon and the 8th is good. My feeling is that theres one more piece in there that makes it happen.

Iguodala, Gay, Memphis' 25th pick.

Everybody wins. Heck, if Philly needs convincing, you send the 25th pick their way as well - and our second rounders if that is what it takes.
Whole point of Memphis trading Gay is to sign Mayo and give him more burn. Don't think DD makes as much sense to them. Plus I dont' see why Philly would want Jose that bad. They can get instant cap flexibility by amnestying Brand. They're gonna want talent and youth.

I'd even go as far as to send Kleiza, Calderon, 8th and another lottery/top 20 protected pick to Memphis to make it happen.

That team would have a chance to fully compete with every team in the East. Especially with Casey at the helm who'll be sure to get great D out of all of these guys.

The talk about trading out of the draft worries me. The more I look at it, the more I like this draft class. There's a lot of talent. Future starters are available all through the lottery and beyond.

I think that it would be better in the long run to try and get the 10 pick from New Orleans, and package the 8 pick for Portland's 6 pick, then draft Barnes and Lillard.

A core of Lillard/DD/Barnes/ED/JV could be very good for a very long time. I think that Bargs/Calderon/JJ/Amir/LK are the guys that would be offered to make that happen.

Apparently New Orleans is interested in dumping Okafor's contract in a package with the 10 pick. So, it might be possible to get Lillard at 10 if the Raptors are willing to pay Okafor for the remainder of his deal. With Magloire and Gray not having contracts, Okafor could be a good fit here until JV is ready to start. If there's no credible free agent signings on the horizon I think that this deal would be a good use of the available cap space.

Also, I think that Portland might be interested in trading if Barnes is available where they're picking. They already have Batum at SF, and need some help in the front court. Also, it's likely that their targeted prospect will be available at 8, so it might not even take a lot in addition to the 8 pick to get that deal to work.

Motiejunas is Bargs 2.0 with better rebounding

LOL, so why wouldn't NOH just draft Jones with the #10th pick if Jones offers "more athletic, more size, etc..." and Jones would be making less than Davis?

Trade #8 to Sacramento for Tyreke Evans (absorb with TPE)
Trade Calderon and Ed Davis to Atlanta for Josh Smith

Tyreke/Udoh
Derozan/Forbes
Josh Smith/JJ
Bargnani/Kleiza
Jonas/Gray

Then we can get a good rookie wing with #37. A PF prospect with #56
Sign Barbosa with MLE
and playoffs here we come!

Babbitt, #41 pick, cash... for Ed Davis.

Ed Davis struggled a bit last year. Babbitt won the hearts and minds of lower bowl Blazer fans? He did, I ain't playin'.

C'mon Canada, we can do this!!! Babbitt looks European, you'd love him too!!

I'd do that deal in a heartbeat... small forward for a smallish forward! Get it don't Toby, have your guy call our guy!!! You didn't even need to offer the cash, but I suppose we can get more courtside 3D signs!

Cause of the cash and Jones is a bit more raw.... maybe they want a bit more experience beside Anthony Davis.

Memphis- M. Williams, Calderon, #8

Atlanta- Bargnani, Bayless (S&T), 2013 first round pick

Amnesty Kleiza (gives us about 12Mil in capspace) and sign Nash + backup PG?

Not possible... you can't sign and trade a player with others. As for memphis' haul, awful. They would say no and it's totally understandable. They don't need Jose, Williams is a hefty contract and the #8 is being overvalued. But the rest of it is good, except we should deal DD instead of Bargnani.

Sure, but we're getting Josh Smith. Who would play at SG? Forbes? I'd be more willing to let Bargs go because we'd be getting an upgrade at his position. Put Derozan in deal instead and we have too many PF's and no starting SG. Unless you want Bargs back at Center and have JV playing 15mpg?
