Summer league announcer during the raps-piston game just said the Raptors will target Jarrett Jack

Terms of the deal aren't yet apparent, but Jack, 25, would be a younger, faster replacement for Anthony Parker, who has agreed to a two-year deal with Cleveland. As a versatile combo guard, Jack would back up point guard Jose Calderon and also see time at the scoring guard spot. Once Jack signs the offer sheet, the Pacers have seven days to match.

Well we have heard it a few times in media speculation but this guy didn't even want to say the name, he appeared to have some inside info from a valid source.

What we have being really hearing from our media is Delfino, Rasho and perhaps Nachbar.

His name has come up as a possibility, as have a dozen other names. But if this guy is saying that they're targeting him that sounds more certain, almost as if he knows something.

Yeah, Antonio from NBATV was alluding to having that conversation with Colangelo. Maybe I'm too skeptical, but I don't see BC telling this guy his plans. Either way, I'd love Jack here in Toronto. Back-up to Jose and can also play minutes at SG too.

Agreed it would be great and he also went to GT with Bosh, the two are close friends and Bosh would prolly jizz his pants and sign extension.

I also like it if its true because BC is not settling for what our media is pushing, I feel we should be lookin for another big splash with our available money instead of jumping all over guys like Delfino (who apperently is injured) and guys like Nachbar.

Jack would be a fantastic signing but the Pacers would likely match

he has a little tj in him, without the crazy athletism, he can get in zones where he just forgets everybody and chucks, he is ok for a backup tho.

ya i like him as a player but do we really need another starting PG battle to go on? From what i heard him and ford battled it out this year both trying to get the starting minutes. If he is ok with comming off the bench then im all down for JJ

I agree with you guys, if he's ready to play backup minutes at the PG and SG spot I'd take him but I don't want to see another battle for the starting PG position...Jarrett would be a nice fit on this roster but we got more options, Jack is just one of those..

I don't think it would necessarily cause another battle, but it would be some excellent insurance especially if Jose struggles with injuries. I like Roko, but I'm not comfortable with him running the show.

Yeah Roko still needs some work to become a backup guy but I feel like if he gets more minutes he'll become more comfortable with the NBA and grow as a player. He has great size for a PG and most of the time he's looking to find open teammates...He's probably not ready to be a fulltime backup at this stage of his career but he can definitely become one one day...

Default UPDATED: Raptors Close to Signing the Pacers Jack to an Offer Sheet

Apparently I was wrong Contender (my apologies) ... Ken Berger from CBS Sports is now hearing that the Raptors are close to signing Jack to an offer sheet:

I'd like Jack playing the 2 as well, and being a guy that can defend.

Damn, Colangelo is pulling out all the stops in getting Bosh to sign on. Now he's trying to sign Bosh's close friends, his boy and former teammate from Georgia Tech. Bosh has to love this and its adds a huge boost to the bench if they can land him. I wonder if this means they don't want Delfino anymore?

Love it love it love it. Jack is the absolute perfect fit at backup PG/ some SG. Tough as nails, can run the point, can defend, can knock down shots, and Boshs best friend. Hopefully IND doesnt match because thatd be a great first step in creating a great bench as well. I love Jack as a backup guard.

I just read the Delfino thread. I guess that's confirmation.

I can't see BC bringing in Delfino & Jack?? Then again Delfino can also play some SF and Jarrett Jack is a combo guard so it would add alot of flexibility.
