It has been a foregone conclusion for months that Jeremy Lin will re-sign with the New York Knicks, but sources close to the situation say the return of the free agent point guard is not as certain as it once seemed.

While both Lin and the Knicks are hoping for a reunion, sources say that if any clubs offer Lin, a restricted free agent, a backloaded contract that pays him an eight-figure salary in the third and fourth years, the Knicks could be given pause about matching the offer

Toronto is perhaps the only team that might consider offering Lin a backloaded contract, known as a "poison pill" deal. The Raptors are currently going all-out to sign Steve Nash. Toronto has offered Nash a three-year deal worth $36 million, sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein.
Backloaded offer for Jeremy Lin would give New York Knicks pause to re-sign him, sources say - ESPN New York

^^^ That contract sounds Lintolerable. Seriously, do not want. Would much rather watch Jose play out his contract, and then sign another one... for the max.

Obviously not for the max but as much as I want to see a younger more dynamic pg for the Raps JC has done everything for the team AND he wants to be here. There are so many options for guard next year and the year after. After all the patience and yelling this board did for BC to stay the course I'm confused why there is such a sudden shift to win at all costs now.

I would take a good look at him. Great skills and only 23. If anyone can focus him it would be Casey.

Grant Hill for cheap would be a godsend. Remember we have all-star medical/sports science coach Alex Mckechnie!

Utah Jazz can have $0 in contracts after this season
they just have $16mil in team options for 4 players in that time. Dwight should wait and team up with CP3 in Utah

This is supposed to be Colangelo's building plan? What a colossal failure. No more 35+ year old vets please. We don't need any more vet mentors.

We need high end talent.

No matter if the Raptors do historically bad, next season as long as we get Nash, BC is getting a big extension.

If we somehow miss out, expect a lot of band aid solutions and quick short sighted moves to get into the playoffs.

Wow. I never realized the great position Utah put themselves in. Add that the 4 team options are for rookies.

He's done this before. That is not how you build a team. If that's what's going to happen then the Raps are now the Clippers of the league.

Ok hold on, so an internet source says Grant hill is available, you read, Bryan Colangelo's plan is to add 5 40 year old players.

What the fuck is wrong with you dude? Honestly, do you even stop and think about things before your fingers move?
