Frank Isola: With @Marc Stein reporting that Toronto looking to trade Jose Calderon you have to figure that Raptors believe they're getting Nash 1 minute ago

Uhhhmm, if this is true we're going all in. Do this and amnesty Amir and we'd have 28Mil in capspace. Nash + Batum?

I'm thinking the same thing. If a team is willing to absorb Mo Williams contract, hopefully there's one that will be willing to do the same with Calderon's. We can then amnesty Amir and have about 28 million in space.

I remember watching PTS a couple days ago, and they were suggesting that if we Sign Nash, they might throw money at Ray Allen?

Apparently the Raptors are done talking with Nash, now he is talking to the Knicks.

Mark Jones: @Chris_Broussard just reported on Sportscenter that Raptors have offered @SteveNash a 3 yr 36 mil $ deal. Twitter

Apparently Gretzky's helping us with the recruiting and is trying to convince Nash to join the Raptors.

Marc Berman: If Raptors can actually fit 3 years, $36M as reported, #Knicks pitch today of sign & trade to get Nash over $5M per doesn't quite cut it. 1 minute ago

Gretzky's been a busy man lately. First recruiting Justin Schultz to Edmonton, now Nash to Toronto.

I wish we could convince Allen as well. But I don't see it happening. We would have the money though if Calderon gets traded.

Fit? These guys simply don'y do their homework do they. I was watching NBAtv last night and they listed the teams with the most capspace (top 6 i believe) and we weren't on the list. Even though they showed a couple teams with less space than we have. lol

They then talked about Nash and mentioned Brooklyn, Phoenix (loyalty) and Dallas.....and as they were going to cut to commercial they said, don't discount Toronto they'll try as well (in a dismissive tone). Gotta love it!

its competitive, and they front load the shit out of them. players end up retiring and then the last bit isnt owed. its basically a way to get paid and nt destroy the cap for as long.

So cap cicumvention?

I was listening to the radio this morning and they were kinda laughing at TSN/SN having 6hr shows for this day in a league lacking stars and the stars the league does have are mostly locked up to 10yr type contracts. lol

Then again, the NBA 10day moratorium on signings is the absolute dumbest thing i've ever heard.

I wonder if getting Nash would be their move to try and salvage Amar'e (I know there's an apostrophe in his name somewhere) and if they don't get Nash, Stoudemire will be on his way out.
