YAAAAAAHOOOOO ..... now I'm actually looking forward to an All-Star weekend. Haven't been excited about one since Vince's mastery year's ago.

Would love to see Moon in the dunk-off vs. Gerald Wallace

Any written confirmation yet?

*fingers crossed*

"I feel great, I'm excited," said Moon, a 6-foot-8 forward who has drawn comparisons to former NBA legend Julius Erving — Dr. J — for his swooping drives to the basket and his ability to palm the basketball with ease.

Moon's teammates are excited as well.

"He told me he's got some dunks," said Raptors guard Juan Dixon.

What moves Moon will breaking out for one of the most-watched basketball events of the season are a closely-guarded secret, as Moon doesn't want to tip his hand.

"I got to keep it low for now," he said Friday night after wowing the Madison Square Garden crowd with a spectacular double-clutching fadeaway lay-up.

Moon has been one of the NBA's most exciting rookies after making the Raptors roster as a free agent following a six-year tour of basketball's low-minor leagues.

He ranks among rookie leaders in points (8.2), rebounds (6.4); and blocked shots (1.66).

The last Raptor to participate in the dunk contest was Vince Carter, who won the event in 2000.

They better bring Dwight back, he said he didnt even do his best dunks, and he got shafted last year.

nice.

I heard in an interview with him earlier that he will likely do some slight variations on some classic dunks of the past. I guess he knew he was going to participate for a while.

As an aside... what are some of your favorite dunk contest memories?
I gotta admit, as much as it pains me, it was Vince's first dunk: the 260 tomahawk. yep. it pains me to say it.

Definitely Vince's night but the only other one that stands out in my mind was the one that Spudd Webb won. That was absolutely sick and crazy. Never again will we see something like that in my opinion. Even Nate couldn't come close with the amazement factor.

I enjoyed Dee Brown's "eye covering" dunk too.
Can't say i saw any Jordan or Wilkins dunk offs unfortunately. I know you can view them on youtube and stuff and i have... but to tell you the truth: it really isn't the same as watching it live on television.

For those that missed it, here's Spudd's night. Nothing technical about the dunks, just amazing that someone who's only 5'7 can elevate that high.

ok. damn. stop everything.
that's in-freaking-credible.

Of course, i've seen replays of his dunks here and there, but seeing them all together like that and against Dominique, that looked like it had be one of the best dunk contests ever.
