While Casey's rotations can be baffling at times, he does prepare this team to compete on a nightly basis. So I'll cut him some slack because I'm so cognizant of the Triano era aka the Blunder years, when games were routinely over after the 1st and 130 point blowouts were the norm.

and he put Gray in when JV was hurt because Gray is the only 1 that can body Hibbert

But we didn't play zone,we played man to man.
Now according to your theory, it is good idea to play zone with 3 slow bigs on the floor while trying to avoid 3?
So the way they were positioned JV would be left to defend top of the 3, Gray and Gay would be protecting the rim While Bargs and DD would cover the sides, guess what would happen than, JV and Bargs would be matched up against Hill (i think he was inbounding) and George, i think i don't have to explain further.. Luckily though Gay followed Geogre all the way to the 3 to contest the shot.

These rotations are crazy man. I would love to understand his thought process. They are nothing short of baffling at times.

But the point is it was still a decent look in 1.7 seconds. If they had attacked Grey it might not have turned out the same. Knowing how slow Grey is rotate, one screen resulting in a switch would have been an open shot for his man.

Something bothers me.

Demar is not getting high assists anymore

From an open ball-moving offense we had before Rudy, we moved to more iso style, passing when you have no other option. Casey puts the ball in the hands of our new star too often. And it mightily reminds me Raptors of first few games where our "star" was Andrea.
His presense should open the floor for others. Defenses get an easier time guarding Gay on-ball. Gay is not a willing passer, often choosing a contested shot over pass. And now Demar forgot how to pass as well.

Our success lays in sharing the ball. Shouldn't exploit the new guy that can create his shot and close games and lets face it, likes to score and be the man.

Edit:
and here is an article that says basically the same
The Rudy Gay Era In Toronto Is Off To An Up-And-Down Start

His first game off the bench was perfect, not trying to do too much. After that it was your example of a stat-padding star on a bad team

great post, agree 100%

gay definitely has improved the team overall but we must be careful of bad habits.

I really do want him fired now. He's got such a shitty gameplan.

- Terrible rotations throughout the season
- Lack of offensive plays
- Does not hold guys accountable of defense
- Relies too much on transition game
- No trust in rookies, even if they're hot.

edit: also can't play the talent card. We have decent talent in Demar, Lowry, and Gay now.

Fire this piece of shit holy fuck. I wouldn't mind if we lost ever single game for the rest of the season just so we can fire this pretend coach.

I wish someone would just ask Casey postgame why he's not playing JV in the fourth. Maybe he has a legit reason.

Casey is done here. He's a mad men yelling go, and his team isn't going.

Not the right man for the roster Colangelo is building,if they want become more than a bottom seed in the East. Both must go but, hopefully at least one. I like them but I'm Raps first and I'm tired of waiting for playoffs.

He is such a liability.

He loves scrubs like Andrea Fields & Anderson.

Doesn't play Ross (Stunting his growth)
Doesn't play JV in 4th quarters at all (kills his growth)
Loves AA/JL far too much
His rotations are unbelievably predictable
Has no offensive gameplan
Is known for D and we're 18th in the NBA in ppg allowed
We're 28th in the NBA in rebounding

I loved this guy last year but holy fuck he's pissing me off.

Alright, I'm on the bandwagon now.

That had to be one of the most disheartening games I've ever witnessed as a Raptors fan. We're fighting for the playoffs and we lose an important, very winnable game because our coach cant adjust his substitution patterns in the 1st half when his bench is sucking it up, and then in the 4th quarter brings in our worst player after benching him in the 2nd half for absolutely no reason, when our starting C played a very good game and had a big impact especially in the 1st quarter.

Casey bringing Bargnani in over Jonas in crunchtime after Bargnani played one of the worst 6 minutes I've ever seen in my life in the 1st half is just mindblowing.

If BC, Bargnani, and Casey arent gone come next year, I honestly may be done watching, and rooting for this team. We've been put through enough as a fanbase. They dont deserve our viewership and money.
