:facepalm::facepalm:

Why didn't we just go for a good defensive coach.

Sources: P.J. Carlesimo to be hired as Toronto Raptos assistant - ESPN

I like PJ and after 40 years of coaching, he knows something about defense

Irony win. Question fail.

Don't be misled by his time in Seattle/OKC. He was coaching youngsters through a rebuilding phase.

P.J. spent time with the Spurs. That's a plus.

When he was the head coach in Portland, they made the playoffs 3 seasons in a row. More relevant to the Raps current problems, P.J.'s version of the Blazers were solid defensively.

In the 3 years in Portland, P.J.'s teams finished between 5th and 7th in the league in defensive rating. That's a plus.

Jay and Marc should be looking over their shoulders. Let's hope this works.

Honestly, I don't want to witness Iavaroni or Triano teaching defense anymore. Those guys are tools.

I'm sure the average RF poster couldn't do any better. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

The coaching staff seems like it was done in a very hodge-podge fashion.

I like the move. Not because I know anything about his philosophies as a coach but because of where he's been and the success he's had.

Can you say next in line?

Iavaroni, Triano, Carlesimo, Colangelo, Gerardhini, Bargnani, Belinelli, Toni, Canavarro, Inzaghi, Del Piero.....

Seems to me like all Italians!

good thing theres no hotheaded players on the team. But if BC pulled an Arenas trade, if I was PJ I'd be worrying that it wasn't his neck Gil was reaching for.

adding experience is never a bad thing...especially when Jay Triano is the coach.

All I know is that Latrell Sprewell said this about PJ "I wasn't choking P.J. that hard. I mean, he could breathe"

How do you you respect someone who doesn't defend him self when being choked?

I don't have anything agains PJ it's just that when this happened way back when I felt like as a grown man he is a chump for letting Spree choke him!
