Absolutely, cause our wings are so damn good there'd be no playing time at all

The Spurs can afford taking prospects and develop them while we can use some help in multiple positions. The Spurs are in a great position, even with their old guys they are slowly going to transition to the young guns and whoever they can pick up. They did this with multiple players. Who did we devlope, Chris Bosh? By the time BC is ready to contribute and become an all-star *finger crossed* like some people believe he will, it's going to be in a good few year. Look at DD or Ross, both have potential, took DD 5 years to be the players that he is today, and he still need to improve, Ross after 2 years has a long way... This Bruno guy if can become a star is something like 5-7 years away.... IF...

Absolutely! I sure hope we can sign Salmons for a few years to start at the 3 while mentoring BC, you know

Who said all star? Good grief calm down. And as for a Bosh, this is a completely different team and organization and culture.

That's the point, whose ahead of him? Can't play significant min with Fields, Ross, Ahead? C'mon. He'll play some back up and minutes will be determined by his play in SL and preseason. Not too hard to gain momentum.

I don't know a lot about him but pre determining already? MU thinks he can and that means more than anything else written here.

this dude is reportedly very raw so we just dont know yet. summer league will be a good indication to see how he looks against a better opponent.

never been this excited for summer league

I am too. I'm not expecting KD at 18-19 but I'll be surprised if he doesn't catch on quickly and contribute in some way. He has the physical tools for sure for defence which I expect to develop a bit quicker on the curve. His offence most likely will take the time to develop but if he can develop defensively and keep hitting those 3's it will be a good start.

Not that it matters, but I'll post what I think anyway.
I know nothing about Bruno (seems like none of you do), so wtf is the point to say if this is a good or bad pick? Lets wait until he plays in the SL (at the very least) to make any predictions.
so I voted that it's a good pick, but really I don't know a jack shit until i see him play
I've advanced the same silly notion twice already. No use.

It's all speculations at this point but when you hear media personnel even if a total tool calling him the Brazilian KD it's automatically put some expectations in place. I am not predetermining I am looking at the facts. Actually numbers to be exact and common sense. The kid is 18 and totally raw, you can see that his body is not an NBA ready for this position. (Neither is Ross btw) he averaged 4.8 ppg in Brazil. So far these are fact. It's also a fact that Masai has been following him for a long time. If this dude is so amazing, he should have played more despite the fact he is 18. He needs to be half man - half amazing in order to make the switch to an NBA level in such a short period of time. With all due respect to the Brazilian league I don't believe it's even close to the European leagues in terms of talents and skills.
We can all agree that the NBA is best league in the world, you have European leagues, NCAA, D-league etc... CB was playing in Brazil, which isn't a basketball powerhouse whatsoever. I would much rather use Euro basket at a reference if I had to... so 4.8 ppg in the Brazilian league and a great potential just doesn't strike me as a steal.

He'll be like that annoying guy at the park who will out rebound, steal, block you and will somehow manage to score over your supposedly good defense that wingspan at the 3 spot is insane

Just for the record, Brazil is 10th out of 85 in the world in the men's FIBA rankings. Women are 7th of 73.

Canadian men are 25th.

Sweet spot between Serbia at 11 and Australia at 9 and Italy at 21... When I think about powerhouse squads in Europe or around the world for that matter teams like Spain, Argentina, Greece, Lithuania, Turkey and Russia come to mind. Brazil? Not that much imo.

who cares how good or bad brazil is, point is, masai, who is a great scout, watched this kid a lot and he thinks he has a chance to be special.

honestly, considering that nobody here has any clue about this guy, shouldn't we be more trusting on masai's (and casey's) judgement on this?

All these theoretical arguments are pretty much useless.

imo, you only have two rational arguments here, either you trust the few experts who actually saw him in action, or you decline to comment until you see more of this guy.

in a reddit post that snooch(?) linked a few pages back some guy from brazil said that the reason why his stats were pretty low was because he was with the brazil U18 team a lot of the time, so he didn't play a lot

See though, that's the issue coming into play. Just cause you don't think of Brazil as a strong basketball country doesn't mean they're not. I totally agree though as I'm not so big a fan of labels so calling him the Brazilian KD is unfair. However, looking at his body type with his skinny frame and ridiculously long wingspan and then I can understand why he was referred to in that manner. Unfortunately, outsiders hear it and then attribute it to being another KD.

And your point is?
They come to mind because I am half Spanish, Lithuanian and Latvian and grew up in Israel so I believe I know a thing or two about Euro basket as my family was into it ever since.
