Are you serious? How do you see Toronto winning eight straight games, especially when they're facing teams like the Lakers or the Nuggets?

No Nuggets yet, I like Nuggets. Toronto will beat Lakers at Staple center being huge underdogs!

Aren't the Raps going on 5 game western swing during those 8 straight you so boldy presume as victories? I predict the Raps end up with a losing record.

I hope you're right. I really do.

It's just that this Raptor team will probably be one of the worst teams in the NBA. And honestly, with their difficult start, I see them going 6-11 (wins against New York, Cleveland, Golden State, Charlotte, @ Washington and Phillidelphia).

I'm telling you Raptors will smash and grab teams this season. I just hope Jay Triano won't let them to ease off after a good start..

Game 1 we destroy the Knciks.
Surprise loss to the angry and pumped Cavs who will try to make a run into the playoffs
'Reke pulls a triple double and Raps lose to heartbreaker against Kings.
We beat Jazz in hard fought game.
Kobe singlehandedly destroys the Raptors.
10 pointish loss to Portland
Big win against GS
Close win against the Bobcats.
Loss to Orlando.
Bosh blows out knee. Demar and Barney go off. Raptors upset the HEAT.
Win against Washington. (Bad chemistry, no one wants Gilbert and he has to play the 2)
Win over Philli.
Blowout loss to Houston.
Hard fought loss to Boston.
We beat Philadelphia again.
Losses to Boston and Atlanta.
8-9. Not that bad. We have a young hungry team. If we keep it up we can realistically get at least 33 wins.

A Chamberlainesque statline like 50ppg 30rpg 9apg and 15bpg (according to his personal statisticion) would also do the job. As long as this beast mode also invloves taking out oppoising players inconspicuously.

I would say around .500, or 1 game under .500

and this is if everything goes right

I don't even want to know what happens if a couple guys go down with injury

I tried to do this by percentages and averaged out our wins-losses to a respectable 8-9 record. Here's the percentages I came up with as well as the likeliest predicted result for each game and some notes.

Oct./Nov. Schedule

New York 50% W
Cleveland 66% W
@ Sacramento 66% W
@ Utah 33% L
@ LA Lakers 50% L
@ Portland 33% L
Golden State 60% W
Charlotte 50% W
@ Orlando 25% L
@ Miami 25% L
@ Washington 50% W
@ Philadelphia 50% W
Houston 33% L
Boston 40% L
Philadelphia 66% W
@Boston 33% L
Atlanta 33% L

There are several games that I think will be really telling of the strength of our team by that point in the year.

- Home Opener against New York: I think we have a fair chance to win this one given that it's the home opener and the beginning of a new era in the Raptors franchise, not to mention the first opportunity to both show how much everyone's improved as well as the overall meshing/vibe of the team.

- At LAL Again: We almost won last time and were it not for some spotty calls, most egregiously the interference by a fan turnover, we very well might have. The reason why I think we can do it not is because the Lakers seem to bring out the best in us and having most likely gone 3-1 in the first four games, could already be confidant enough to take it in a tight one. I still think we'll lose though.

- Reliving the heartbreak: Golden State at home. To me this is the worst part of Bosh's last season; having his last full game being one of the most disappointing and that it was because of him that it was so. It was just too emblematic of his time with us - great effort, a lot of skill and potential to win, but ultimately unable to effectively build around him or be carried by him. To be blunt, I give us a very slight advantage, but I think more than almost any other game it will be a test of how we've changed as a team; in chemistry, offensive flexibility and most importantly on defense and mental resilience. And remember, they swept us last year and were a 26 win team.

- Boston at ACC: The dreaded Atlantic rival again... given that we'll be a 7-5 team by that point, add in home court advantage and given the Raps play as a team, we still have a less than half chance of winning. Boston just knows how to stifle us.

- Home Closer for shits and giggles: Depending on how many star players are resting on the last game of the year or if they'll still be chasing #73 will decide it; 33% for the former, 20% for the latter.

8-9 (.471%)

6-11 is realistic, 5-12 more likely.

I was disgusted when I saw it, even more so when referees didn't make the call and threw him out. Jose is too sportsmanlike to react more. Arrogance drenches that whole institution, from the coach to the fans.
And the refs gave Lakers the title, that's why many people hate them, but respect Boston for ex.

My predictions are optimistic, but they're achievable. I think the real test is Orlando, cause they derailed us several times last season. Those games in fact came very untimely, cause as soon as we gathered some confidence on defense shutting down the middle, came another game vs Orlando. Each game brought self doubt and schizofrenia. Only 3 games this season, thanks for that!
