He just hates management on principle. Always has. I wonder what kind of dynamic is in play with his pal MJ.

Watching that sissy play this decade is proof enough for me.

I'm curious as to why nobody took offence to his obvious insult to Reggie.

You're right Oak, you aren't the same, reggie is a better rebounder. You had a better 15 footer. Sadly, the rest of whatever he thinks he was, was his memories of his teammates.... they were good.

What a douchebag.

Really SJ? Im sure in 20 years from now people will sure as hell will remember Oak a hell of a more then Reggie Evans. And by the way Oak was a WAY better rebounder and defensive player than Reggie ever dreamt to be.....putting up 13 boards a game for a Raps squad that is allergic to rebounding for 6 weeks hardly compares to Oakleys career.

I appreciate the things Oak did on the court, but did not particularly like him off the court.

You can't always get the "Oak being Oak pass".

Some things had to be said, like when he said, "Vince's mom is the GM of this team".

But saying things like, "The NBA needs to apologize to me for putting this team in Canada"....???

And when they get caught running a stop sign, who says, "Do you know who I am?" to the cop?

I find if they don't get called on it, some of the things they say get worse.

"Injured" Vince Carter caught dancing
Leg OK? Carter reportedly gets jiggy at Nelly concert

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ESPN.com news services

Toronto Raptors general manager Glen Grunwald said Wednesday that Vince Carter could be back practicing with the team as early as Thursday and might play next week.

Grunwald's comments were published in Thursday's Toronto Sun.

Carter, who left the Raptors' Nov. 2 game at Houston with a quadriceps tendon strain in his left knee, caught flak after appearing in an alleged jig with rap star Nelly in a concert at the Air Canada Centre on Monday -- the same night his teammates were outhustled and defeated in Atlanta, the Sun reported.

There have been suggestions that the All-Star forward should not be cavorting on stage when he is injured and his teammates are playing elsewhere. Grunwald's response to the incident was typically low key, the Sun reported; the GM said that if he had a choice he would have attended the concert, given how uninspired his troops looked against the Hawks.

Grunwald also told the newspaper that guard Lindsey Hunter, who has a sore right knee, and center Nate Huffman, who has not played this season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, also could be back practicing as early as Thursday.

As soon as one of the injured players is ready to play, however, Grunwald will have to make a decision on what to do with center Greg Foster and guard Jermaine Jackson, players brought in on the NBA hardship exemption rule.

Jackson, a guard, signed with the team Wednesday.

Center Mamadou N'diaye, who has missed the past three games with a stress fracture in his right heel, will remain on the Raptors' active roster.

Carter, Hunter and Huffman remain on the active roster. Forward Lamond Murray and centers Hakeem Olajuwon and Eric Montross are on the injured list.

Yes, I know about the Nelly concert incident. But how is dancing on a stage for a couple minutes equivalent to playing professional basketball. How does the fact that he could dance on stage mean that he was healthy enough to play in the NBA?

I don't see the connection. He was back playing less than a week later anyways. Being able to dance is hardly the same as playing professional sports at the highest level. It would be stupid to compare the two. Beyond that you couldn't just come back at any time back then if you were on the injured reserved list anyways. Once you were put on the list you had to sit out 5 games.

It's called "being a professional".

When you're a franchise player you have a RESPONSIBILITY to your team.

This is something that Vince just never understood. It's why he left to get his diploma the morning before the biggest game in Raps history... and it's why he did what he did with Nelly.

Vince Carter has had a reputation of over acting when it come to injuries. I remember watching a Nets game a few years after he was dealt there and he was rolling around on the floor like he'd been shot, the camera panned to Kidd and he was rolling his eyes as if to say THIS AGAIN? By then the luster had long since faded on VC's career, his act wore very thin very quickly in NJ mostly due to his own Bullshit.

Thus the name "Wince Carter" was born.

I wasn't claiming he was being "professional" being at that concert. I was saying that it was a lie to claim he "faked" the injury that kept him out for those 10 games or whatever it was. Those two things are in no way related.

Yes, but I was talking about "faking injuries", not having a low tolerance for pain. When he would exaggerate how hurt he was and return later in the game, I don't ever recall him in an interview after the game claiming that he had been badly injured.

You see guys get hurt in games on the ground all the time without being seriously injured.

^------------------Kinda embarassing. After a while his teammates stopped helping him up.

I can't believe that both, Carter and McGrady were broken down by 30, neither of them able to lead a team.

Carter was still putting up 20/5/5 on 55% True Shooting at 32, so how was he broken down at 30? Those are all-star numbers. Your statement doesn't make sense. He lead the Nets to more wins in 2008-09 with a far inferior supporting cast compared to what Bosh had here, and got nothing but praise for the way he lead the young players like Lopez and Anderson that season.

To say he was "broken down" at 30 is even more idiotic. He put up 25/6/5 on a career-high 56% true shooting that season, and helped the 6th seed Nets beat the 3rd seed Raptors in the playoffs at 30, and made Chris Bosh look like a complete loser. Or have you blocked that series from your memory? 2006-07 was arguably Vince's best season production-wise. So who told you he was "broken down" by then?

It's one thing if you don't like the guy, but you're just outright lying.

oakley was a dirty cheater and a cheapshot artist that tried to hurt many players throwing them to the floor. I have no respect for this guy and never will. fans can boo all they want vs a oppossing team. I thought oak was tough and can take it typical wanna be thug.

I can't stand this guy, I didn't like him when he played in Toronto

he was over the hill and got way to much credit for acting tough all the time, and being a real douche bag

we would have been a good team with or without him

all these tough guys that everyone seems to love get way to much credit, Reggie Evans, Junkyard dog, and Oak, i'm pretty sure these guys don't influence winning or losing, it takes star power to win, like Vince in his early years
