I believe they will draft a SF and sign a high level PG with their cap space, just an opinion. Also, with a high pick, the only thing not there, even at best available player is PG.

But I would agree that Davis ends up being the odd man out. Even more so with Amir starting. I had Davis pegged for 24 min a game anyway.

The right fit at PG would potentially make the following a high octane starting unit to grow together....

PG
Demar Derozan
Harrison Barnes
Andrea Bargnani
Jo Battle

Davis, JJ, 2013 Pick for Curry?

Then sign a backup 2,3,5 ( Courtney Lee, Pietrus, Nazr Mohammed?) and a couple end of the bench players on minimum deals.

Curry/Bayless or Hinrich/vet min
Derozan/Lee?/vet min
Barnes/Pietrus?/Kleiza
Bargs/Amir/Kleiza
Jonas/Mohammed?/Alabi

Still say BC goes after Pietrus next summer, if not him than Matt Barnes again? Amnesty Calderon and even after these moves we'd have probaby in the neighborhood of 7-8Mil in capspace to make further moves during the season. Hell, if we can get Hinrich here maybe don't match whoever offers a contract to Bayless who's a RFA. A bench of Hinrich, Lee, Pietrus, Amir, Nazr would be pretty good.

You guys are saying Curry, but I'm thinking Westbrook because he is more atheltic and because he butts heads with Durant in OKC.

And Westbrook might not be as hard to get. Why?

He may right now be what Mcgrady was to Carter. There is no doubt that OKC is Durant's team. He's the beginning and the end there.

Here, he'd be free to lead and dominate the way he sees fit. He'd be the man here, putting up 25 points, 8 assists. And what was missing in a game like the loss to Indiana? A Westbrook, who can take the ball himself when he needs to and put a lot of pressure on a defense.

So there, I'll fix it....

Westbrook
DeRozan
Barnes
Bargnani
Jo Battle

I'd hate to play them.

He's a RFA, so unless he's dealt (they can get better offers from other teams) they'll match any offer for him.

Westbrook/Sefolosha

for

Davis/Bayless/JJ/ Barbosa (S&T)/Pick

Westbrook/Jose
Derozan/Sefolosha
Barnes/Pietrus?/Kleiza
Bargs/Amir/Kleiza
Jonas/Nazr?/Alabi

And if you are an Amir fan, which I am, don't be that suprised if Amir ends up being the one amnestied only because of his contract. Jose is an expiring next year, so he is a moveable and valuable.

Still think Davis is the odd man out, but bigs rotation could end up like this.

Jo Battle/FA
Bargnani/Davis

On a side note, Alabi must really, really suck right now!

He's just got to keep pissing them off so they don't match "any" offer.

And if Curry can be had for what's mentioned above from the Raptors, why not sweeten it slightly for a malcontent?

I like it because I am getting not-so-sold on Bayless.

I think a guy like Barnes would be the glue. He seems to have everything in his game and is still improving.

Sorry to rain on the parade guys but the Raps are way more likely to sign a guy like George Hill than obtain Westbrook or Curry.

Or a guy like Raymond Felton. Whatever, allow us to dream a little. I do think we'll be making a large-ish trade in the summer.

Yeah, dreaming is fun sometimes. Sorry. It's just really hard to land sexy PGs. But landing a guy like Hill is not a terrible outcome. Hill is solid defensively. If a team has above average players at 2 or 3 positions, they can still be a strong playoff calibre team, despite only having a PG who is decent on offense.

If Felton does well this year, Portland will keep him. The Blazers have no problem paying their players. I think Hill might be obtainable because Indiana already has Collison and Colangelo is not afraid to overpay a little on his offer sheets.

I don't think our bigs are going anywhere ... This is such a compressed schedule that everyone will get playing time. After two games we see trends ... Too soon folks.
The whole season is an audition ..
If Bargs continues to play hard .. He may stay
Will Bayless learn to be an effective pg
Will Davis continue to improve and show more consistency
Will DD become a legit starter and possible a star
Will JJ become more consistent and learn to shoot the rock
Etc

They're not going anywhere NOW. But we're talking about the offseason.

I'm with Carlito. Dreaming about offseason moves, and suggesting anyone is an odd man out, is just getting a little ahead of where this team actually is at the moment. Let's see how the change in culture progresses, and who appears to fit best once they are down that road for real. Then I truly hope the team makes trades based on guys that they have on their radar rather than being able to acquire a malcontent. There are going to be multiple personnel decisions to make. Let's hope that they put together the most complete and balanced lineup possible. I think they will. Otherwise they risk setting back what has been gained from their patience so far.
